u need a proper box to flash not just the cable! 99% cable is not sucess!!!

what u mean proper box to flash?

not all phones require specific tools. like sonyericsson, a lot of 3rd party development has been done, enabling modification using only the typical cable.

i guess you have to wait longer then. some take up to 8- 10 hours. if after that still no progress. forget about it. probably some failed process.

or ask the ppl in the pinned thread of SE modding. or pm sasaug.

now i have been waiting for this XS for about 9 hours...

there are china made dual sim card holder, enable you to use two sim card for some phones. though you will have to switch line manually. if one sim card is in use, the other cant be used.

my w610 is using a Mediterranean firmware
so how do i flash it to Asia region firmware?

guys i need ur opinion..i feel like being cheated. My SE z610, hanged and after that just blank white screen. Sent to my AP vendor to check and after few weeks this guy tells me that it's to flash the firmware i think and to installl so call anti-virus. The cost of it is RM80 and he asked me whether its ok or not. So i told him i call him later and when i told him i don't wan to repair already, he told me maybe they already repair it... Does it really cost so expensive for this process or i'm being cheated here??

There is no such thing as anti virus for phone AFAIK. And white screen of death just need to reflash firmware and it should solved. FYI, if your phone is still under warranty, the AP company should flash the firmware for you for free.

firmware flashing cost from rm15 to abt rm60/70 (reasonable), usually rm30. definitely a rip-off for rm80 just for a firmware reflash. but what can you do, that is their price.

antivirus? not for non-symbian at least.

My phone is only 4-5 months old..and the fella told me no warranty for this. Sigh, really being cheated left and right...

not all Japan phone run on CDMA. Toshiba and sharp are two of them, because they manufacture a lot of phone for other countries too. (e.g. sharp 903sh etc, there are both japanese and european models, so as Toshiba etc).

that is why i asked him to pm vodafone and ask if he can unlock it or for more details.

Nokia N71, if it is locked, it cant be unlocked yet.
