Hi All,

Recently I have strong interest in weightlifting and I try to learn clean and jerk by myself thru youtube
*(snatch I didt learn because my mobility issue, i can deep squat(olympic squat) 120kg but I cant even overhead squat 30 kg in good form)
but I cant train with higher weight because the gym not allowed to drop the barbell, so basically after I performed my clean and jerk, I have to drop down into my knee position and put it down.

So may I ask any gym in Penang allowed member to drop barbell?

Wah may I ask which gym that u are currently patronizing that doesnt allow weight dropping?

By the way, Orient Fitness seems cool with your workout requirements. There are some platforms for heavy weight dropping which Crossfit members regularly do, in Farlim branch. Not sure about the OF Gold at Paragon though.

Nah, I dont know how it "looks" expensive to u - that's it if u have actually seen it in person before - but it's certainly way more affordable than any other established chains here.

Orient fitness doesn't allow weight dropping anymore. They no longer have crossfit there. Your best luck would be crossfit 5833 or Body Factory

What? I see people dropping weights every now and then there. sweat.gif But cant tell if the CrossFit program have been stopped, I still see some CrossFit-ers doing their things.

I'm talking about Farlim branch anyway, there are some weightlifting platforms there so I think weight droppings are to be expected?

Anyway Im not promoting the gym... Starting to get crowded for my comfort, even if I just use power rack from start to finish most of the time

you can drop the barbell but mostly in deadlift position, without bumper at the floor, the sound quite loud!LOL

Yes, we can drop but not from the shoulder position.

Yeah one of my friend does that there lol and always gets warnings and complains on the daily. I guess they only allow you to deadlift on the platform and thats about it. The crossfit program itself has already been cancelled for quite sometime i think one year already so that area is now an open space for members. I used to go there for a short time coz i have all passes to orient branches for 2 years but it's seriously not my taste. Too unhygienic, all the sweat accumulating and never maintain. Prefer the other branches.
