Hi guys, i'm new to the biking world. Planning to get my licence in a couple of months' time, gonna survey a while on bike.

I am interested to get a small bike (in size), i remember seeing those like 1-seater bike, I think is kawasaki if i'm not wrong.

Can you please shed some lights to me pls? I have zero knowledge in this biking world.
Not looking for something very powerful though.

Edit: could it be z125 pro or something?

wah, this one looks cool, very old school like, but it cost something like 13k or something right?
This is one seater or 2 seater ya? looks like 1 but still too big for one.

QUOTE(jesserider223 @ Apr 12 2019, 04:53 PM)
why limit to 1 seat bikes, if the way u mentioned it as your requirement?

btw normal bike that seats 2 persons can be modified to single seat too, so just a thought that it is possible

z125 pro by kawasaki is smaller bike indeed and honda grom/MSX 125 is also similar in size

i only know of these two
*
erm, no idea who to fetch lah, and it's dangerous on bike, so i just limit it to myself.

I generally just want something small in size (probably unique too). let me take a look at your mentioned honda too.

Hi guys, i've been eyeing to get a new mini bike in the follwing sequence:

1. Honda Monkey
2. Honda MX125 Grom
3. Kawasaki Z125 Pro
4. Benelli tnt 135

Let's talk about the availability first, I've been made to understand that Monkey and Grom is now no longer available in Msia, they just didnt bring them in anymore, right?

If that's the case, then I'm down with Kawasaki z125 pro vs Benelli tnt 135.

In terms of reliability, spare parts availability, cost of maintenance (not so much of an issue), is easier to handle?

I use this bike for fun only, mostly for my weekend rides, dun think i will be using this to commute to work anyway.

By the way, I'm from PJ area, can anyone of you introduce a place where I can get these bikes?

Thanks!

i dont think now still got stock for this small fun bike. even the kawasaki 1 most shop dont sell anymore. last time mostly due to trend.
due that pricing, for me, i might as well buy full bike. even the china 1 quite good with the spec.

you can try search thru mudah and went to shop directly.

ok can, thanks for that. I will head straight to shop to ask and see.

Hi all, sorry for a noob question.

Would those bar-end side mirror better than normal stock mirror?

On my stock mirror, i always see my elbow/shoulder, i wonder would it be better if I change to bar-end side mirror?

nanti i take a view on them.

No
To look at the traffic behind you on the bar end mirrors, you have to take your eyes totally off from the traffic in front as you will need to look down.  Dangerous.
*
i put on the upper side instead of bottom, bottom i also think the vision can be off.

Not in favour of bar ends.

Proper mirrors have the height and reach bar ends can't, even if you mount them right side up. Also bar ends tend to be smaller as well. Maybe they are not adjusted properly?

What bike do you have? Maybe swap out to taller and longer ADV mirrors.
*
mine is just a very small kawa z125 pro, small and nimble bike. thought of getting a better mirror for my bar ends use instead. I will also likely to put those fish eye mirror on top of it so it can give me a bit more view.

There is a reason why original mirrors are at the shoulder/chest level.

Upper side or under side of the handlebar.  Not much difference.
*
although I haven't install it, but I do think that the vision would be different for bar end mirrors installed in the upper position vs lower position. clearly you gotta lower your head and potentially need to move your arm/hand a bit to view what's in the mirror (if it's at the bottom). not so for the upper position.

Yes, i also concur with you that there are legitimate reason why the stock mirrors are always at the shoulder / chest level, so you do not need to take your eyes off the road, but my opinion is that, it is similar to us viewing the side mirrors in the car (compared to the upper position of bar end mirror) only.

But the only downside is really that these after market mirrors are often much smaller vs the stock mirrors, so yeah, you compromised some visibility to trade for that.

I just carry it with me.

If I'm going to get groceries, I just use my other bike with 3 boxes.

Regardless, I'm not leaving a 2k helmet in a box if it were to be sitting unintended.

people would steal? even if it's in a locked box?

everybody mentioned that it is normal to fall off from bikes, yes I agree.
But is it normal that I have not? on both my mini fun bike z125pro and the z650 in the driving school? Been riding since July 2022 and only clocked in about 4.5k km mileage on my own bike though. About the same time as LSM.

The only time i hit something was when going up a kerb and hit the undercarriage of my own bike (i'm also unsure which part exactly does it hit, I hope not as serious minus some scratches) while fetching my wife, i admit i underestimated the height of that kerb beside the road.

not saying everyone will fall down
but if dont want to fall down = dont ride a bike

Maybe just haven't ride enough like what others say hahaha.

QUOTE(Patent @ Nov 15 2024, 02:26 PM)
i mean if you've only clocked 4.5k mileage after 2 years.. you havent ride enough laugh.gif
not that its a bad thing if you haven't fall off, means you are a safe rider or do practice a lot of caution

but still jatuh bodo is part of natural course in riding.. and usually it happens when you least expect it.
*
yup, cos it's only like my weekend thingy, on normal days i drive to work. it's really like a hobby, i don't do it daily.
touchwood so far haven't jatuh bodo before and hope i wont be bodo to jatuh hahaha, but hard to say when i get a bigger bike next time.
