Hi all sifu,  I need to buy a bike , as a place holder for number plate I bid, thinking that I might as well start to take up bike license, isit ok to buy ex5 as starting first bike?

Planning to buy and ride around my house field before go and take license, possible? Prefer ex5 or scooter in future.. please advise..

Yeah the EX5 is a good choice, cheap , easy to maintain, plenty of parts and VERY easy to ride. The training centres use EX5 for the B2 license training too. I would suggest you to immediately take the undang test and get an "L" license before riding though, the L license can last a year and you can ride outside with it, just cannot take a pillion rider.

I've searched some parts of lowyat before, but many of the posts are years ago. Any sifu can recommend a shop that sells motorcycle gears? Original products and what not (as I know there are some imitates).

Thoughts on MotoGear ? Thanks

There's a Dainese shop in Subang, sells original Dainese gear
https://www.facebook.com/daineseMY/

For Alpinestars you can go Welly Shah Alam or Takong Racing.

Hodaka Motoworld has Komine and TCX, you can find Komine in Motogear as well, but very limited

LSH Racing in Solaris sells Rev'it and other gears.

NKS sport bikers sells orignal HJC helmets.

Thank you sir. I was initially sceptical about the Dainese shop, but thanks ! Also, Do you happen know any shops that sells Shark or LS2 helmets? Apart from Motogear haha.

Thank you sifu.

One of the main reseller for Shark is Spartan Concept Store near Sunway. They have Furygan gear as well. LS2 i'm not too sure, but i know there's plenty of shops selling LS2. Or you can wait for MotoGP, confirm will have a large LS2 booth there.

Is there any issue with Vulcan S? Why none of the shop carry this model
*
I think shops just ran out of stock most likely, there's a new 2018 model released this year that hasn't reached Malaysia yet. I think one of the main issue Vulcan S in Malaysia had is that our model here doesn't come with ABS. Maybe the new 2018 if it comes here might have ABS.

From the pic it looks like the front disc doesn't have abs gear.
Hmmmmm......

ABS is a 300USD option in US.

Yeah, isn't a Bezza or Axia actually cheaper by a significant margin?  blink.gif

Not really sure who they are trying to target with this price
*
It is foolish to compare prices between motorcycle and car, its clearly targeting different people. Sure, at 50k you can get a Myvi, if you're a family man that's more important. But if I had 50k on hand right now, I'd rather choose the cb650r, i'll have more fun on it and a 50k motorcycle can smoke a 200k car, just saying.
