Out of the lot, budget aside, which one do you really like?

I din manage to test mt09 remember.... biggrin.gif
mt 09 have a few points that i like, upright posture, stock height is ngam for my short legs, the pegs are jz lil bit backward,
and totally out of my legs way. It is not too heavy. Now just need to see how vibby the bike is, and how annoying the torque feel.

im a rider that go for the feel, not going for adrenaline rush, not kaki leper or kaki lenjan, i don't like pushing the bike screaming at high rpm.
sounds like im a cruiser guy, yes almost but i don like the low seat, and kaki kangkang forward position biggrin.gif

My impression of riding inline4 bike (z900) - yes it has a nice screaming high pitched ekzos note, but u can hardly feel the engine,
it is like there is no engine on the bike. biggrin.gif

Compared to riding a v twin or 270 i2, u can feel the engine grunt below, it is like you are riding something that is alive.. laugh.gif

yes that is a start to get to know a bike, but different riders are looking for different things,

so the best way is to test it yourself.

i have to admit that a short ride, can't really tell anything, but at least you get to feel something.. biggrin.gif

Come to think of it, I didn't really noticed that feeling (was on a parallel twin, now on inline four). Lol...
To each their own I guess. biggrin.gif
*
yes tru, humans can switch off a lot of senses at certain moments,

if im riding a bike home aft a long day at work, all thats in my head is food and mandi etc..

won't feel anything about the bike.

But if i purposely get on the bike to unwind, tht will be different... biggrin.gif

Last weekend, hv some free time, so went to test ride kawa bikes again @ cbk motor sentul.

not many people there, and they allow riders to freely ride ( they hold ur lesen tho biggrin.gif ) , so managed to ride longer this time.

so, I have some questions for bros here, since i dont have any experience riding bikes with capacity higher than kapchai.

OK, scenario is like this.

when i was riding the bike - speed ~ 40ish kmh. 3rd gear, rpm ~ 4k liddat,

and when i wan to slow down, i just reduce the throttle slightly... throttle not completely close/off.

now for z650, when i reduce the gas, the bike will have a strong pulling reaction, is this engine braking or wht?

and when i apply a lil more gas ( not sudden, not abrupt ) the bike will push forward, kinda strong.

Compared to z900, with same riding condition, the z900 reaction is very soft.

Questions -

is this because of engine? 180twin vs inline4 ?

or because of fuel mapping?

can this force be reduced, by remapping?

all inline4 engine behave like this? say compare xj6 z900 tnt600 ?

hope bros here with experience, pls share some input, knowledge, TQVM biggrin.gif

characteristics of twin engine is that they have very high torque at low to mid rpm...smile.gif
*
high torque, it depends on which bike it is comparing to.

we will have a rough idea by referring to the dyno graph.

below we have the old ninja650 comparing to cbr650f which is i4, and have almost the same
cc 650 vs 650. Look at the low rpm section. the i2 have a slightly higher torque value,
and the mt07 have a much higher value.

user posted image

and for the new z650, kawa manage to increase the low rpm torque, and make the curve much flatter than before.
The max torque is still the same, but z650 new engine max torque at lower rpm @ 6700.

user posted image

but if compared to z900 which has 299cc more.
z900 @ 4k rpm the torque is ~60lbft already, where as the z650 @ 4k is at best 40.5lbft that is almost 20lbft difference.

user posted image

i have tested both bike using 5th gear @~ 20km/h at low rpm jalan to pickup speed...

Z900 have no difficulty, where as z650 kinda half struggling

well after reading articles n comments by bikers..

this is indeed engine braking, and apparently modern bikes with electronics can somehow reduce it,

as it can be an annoyance to certain bikers..

Haha.. V-Twin FTW...

.. wait.. so does boxer....

and L shape 90 degrees twin Ducati..

what about those Inline 3? had similar issue? because from those Triumph rider, they claim its buttery smooth the engine..
*
the more cylinder the lesser the braking effect.

so i assume that triple is almost the same as inline4, minimal engine braking.

i did test the latest monster 797, which is tuned friendlier to bikers and found that the braking effect is

less than the z650.

for msia, i think leoncino comes with ABS standard,

user posted image

alot of reviews from the chinese.. hardly any yet from the west..

user posted image

sharing the same engine as TRK502, and assuming no changes in tuning,

this is TRK502 dyno graph, from greece. ( written there as BN302 but it is not )

user posted image

the dyno values din stray far from the spec sheet

MAXIMUM POWER
35 kW (47.6 hp) @ 8500 rpm
MAXIMUM torque 45 Nm (4.6 kgm) @ 5000 rpm

compared to CB500f.
Leon = 4.3mkg = 31ftlb @ 5154rpm

user posted image

weight is 186kg dry, vs cb500f 188kg wet, full tank.

with a 360 firing inline twin, leoncino could be a big vibrator like a single ..??

sound.. of 360 inline twin ( like BN302 )

the z900rs.

engine is retuned to give more power at lower rpm,

and the sacrifice is lower MAX rpm, from 125ps @ 9.5krpm dropped to 111ps @ 8.5krpm,

only a dyno graph can tell how much more hp the RS have at lower rpm compared to z900.

max torque is the same but comes early @ 6.5krpm

Comes with traction control, 2 riding modes, abs, slip and assist clutch.

1st gear ratio higher, and 6th gear ratio lower than z900.

Replacement of W800
