I've just changed my rear scooter tyre with a Roadtec about 2 weeks ago. So far it is much stable compared to the stock Anakee Road.

Yea, both the Roadtec and Road 6 tires are great.. Even when in the rain, can ride as normal.. But I still don't have the guts to corner hard in the rain, and I think I will never want to.. No matter how great the tires, I'll just have fun on dry road.. Haha.. biggrin.gif

Can zoom out further?

I think the Road6 is softer, so it flexes more, so it looks like the chicken strip is less but in actual your lean angle is not as big, whereas the Roadtec01 is very stiff, and it flexes much lesser so the chicken strip reflects the true lean angle.
*
Yeap, that's why I said Road6 just give you illusion that you can lean more... But it's actually not... Anyway, both tires are great for me.. Can't go wrong choosing either one.. Just hope that this wear pattern is better cause I don't like the wear pattern at the front of my Roadtec which I have shared earlier..

hi all, what's your take on modenas versys 650? heard that its locally assembled, will it make you think its less reliable than a CBU unit?
one thing i dislike bout the versys is that it sounds like a lawn mover and its only 62hp for a bike that size

I am looking for a middle weight bike for long distance and with good exhaust note - not willing to change exhaust (3/4 cylinder) with a budget of 45k or abit more.  placed order for the CB650R but it looks like it will never arrive and likely end of production by this year. I dont mind a naked bike for long distance ride ( i like feeling like a parachute haha)

currently looking at
1. Versys 650 - hate the exhaust note, but its cheap,

2. Triumph sports 660 - cost more than cb650r, trying to avoid conti bikes because parts are alot more expensive and hard to get parts whenever needed. (that's what i have been told so dont beat me for it please.)

3. MT - 09 - alot lot more than cb650r but it has a sweet exhaust note inline 3. but the power is too much for me to handle, me scared, dislike the mt 07 feel on the road, suspension feels too soft.

to end it what i am prioritizing is good exhaust sound and a smooth ride(less vibration) and also a more upright position bike

Whats the difference between hypersport tire and sport touring tire?
I can only see that it has different amount of treads, so better grip for sport touring?

I'm not the guy that drop his knees to the ground during cornering so wondering if I'd need hypersport

Below I attach the tires I used on mine.. Roadtec 01 got highest vote from me.. Even current Road 6 I'm using, I feel it's not as good.. Skidded 2-3 times including last week in Betong.. It is not fully warmed up though, but I didn't do crazy corners anyway..
Longevity wise, I think road 6 should last longer because currently it's already near to 15k km, with a lot of threads left.. And for Angel ST, it is just an entry level touring tires.. While it might be sufficient for some, but you can definitely feel the difference after comparing it to higher end models, such as Roadtec 01 or Road 6.. Especially on wet roads..

Missing for a long time.. Haha.. Just some quick updates.. As everyone's suggest, Suzuki is really quite bulletproof.. Only did once VC at 90,xxx km.. Reached 100k km 3 months ago, now nearing 110,000 km.. After 3 years with all these mileage and late VC, there wasn't any problems with this bike.. Aside from wear and tear part, only change bearings 3 times.. ( different sides ) No regrets, Aside from the slightly more expensive maintenance compared to my ex-ER6.. Haha

congrats on that 100k mileage. How are the valves and shims condition during the vc?
The gixxer engine definitely made to last.

Shims are all out of specs, hence I don't encourage others in the group to follow my steps pushing so far.. Haha..
Anyway, there are quite some carbons built up already, probably will straight go for top overhaul on the next VC cycle.. Try to make it before 150k..

It's my all-purpose bike bro, haha.. Working daily 90km, 6days/week.. And back to my second home at Betong once or twice a month..
But just stopped my part time job, so probably will clock slightly lower mileage already.. tongue.gif
