try this:
on dialer, dial *#9090#
you will see a service menu
press on top right corner, "enter key input", press insert 'Q', then press ok
"enter key input" again, press 0000, and press ok
wait for few seconds, up to 10 seconds
you will now see a secret service menu
now, go to UTMS -> COMMON -> NV_REBUILD -> NV_REBUILD -> SYSTEM,PROTOCOL,GPS,IMS
Reboot your phone, try GPS again with GPS Test app.

this will force the software to clear cache and rebuild the software from the original code, sorta like a 'flush all the clogs in the software' feature. It will not cause any loss on user setting, files, apps and is not a hard reset.
My Note 3 running on custom firmware also faced a similar issue, and I knew for sure it's a software problem, and this helped me getting back my GPS signal back, a very strong one I must add, accuracy highest at 3meters, and averages around 10-13meters range

also, for those that was saying the early bird promo is similar. Do they also get the powerbank and the extra warranty? If not, we get extra ~RM300 value ( PB i put estimated gain of RM50 if you sell it off lah, since it's over priced anyway )

yeah it startled me a little to see GearVR and Gear360 is on 50% off, let's see if pre-order units can get the same discount as well. If yes, I'm definitely getting the gear vr. With battery life like S8, it finally make sense to watch movies etc on it. Not to mention, HDR display means i can use it for HDR content with gear vr

Different production batch would cause different colour characteristic, typically with LCD it is minimal, but it seem like it would affect AMOLED more. Obviously since they are the same display, only one factory colour calibration setting is used, which causes some other batches to have different white point. This is common even in bigger monitors like Dell ultra sharp series. Even iPhone has 2 screen tone on certain models, one being warmer than the other. All they need to do is a way to id the panel batch and use another calibration setting that will make the white point consistent, or give us 2 colour profile for us to choose, depending on the panel characteristic

guys, S8 demo unit is up on Samsung stores. Just went to have a feel if it. Definitely top notch build, everything feels solid, and the edge screen isn't as curved as S7, so it's easier to handle. Overall not bad at all. They literally put out the unit minutes before i arrive, and still setting up the whole table to move their A9 pro 2017 somewhere else to put more S8, Gear VR and Gear360 is not out yet as per lunch hour, so cant comment on those. Sad that PO phones isn't eligible for the half price discount for GearVR, otherwise i'd sweep one home

yeah, asked SME staff and she said not eligible, but then she also mentioned that the details are still being discussed right now and she is unsure about it. Could/might change, but I wouldn't put my money on it.

From what I know, a friend of mine said Lowyat is up, and I myself tried it on 1u, I think other stores should have their demo unit up by now. Judging now some 11street customer are offered to have their delivery earlier, I bet malaysia retail unit just arrived yesterday and they just received it this morning. The staff still said camera is not allowed to be used yet, not sure why, but youtube app seem to just randomly shut itself down when i am doing search. We might see first week firmware update to improve system stability.

it's 1U. Anyway I still feel it's decent, at least we get the 1 year extended warranty. You can argue that the roadshow gets better discount, but only applicable if you get both the GearVR and the Gear360. For people that only wants the phone, PO still brings better value, at least that's how I see it. Personally if I can get 50% off i'll definitely get the GearVR, but on the fence for Gear360, cos I'm not too sure if I'll use it often.

also, if u didnt PO, u also need to go samsung store to buy the unit, which ended up being the same where u need time, petrol, parking to get your phone, and you need to queue this time. I fail to see your logic.

The way I see it, if you get GearVR, you get same 'cash value' as pre-order, and u only get more discount if you get the Gear360 ( BTW what's the price for this? ). We dont need to queue, while even at samsung store, i can bet that it would be super busy on launching day, especially for places that are further from roadshows, so you need to spend more time queuing to get your phone. Still acceptable for me anyways.

yeah this conversion normally has a 6-8% upfront charge one, if the shop offers IPP with 2-4% charges, better off taking that.

Roadshow confirmed gonna be packed for sure, but as I said earlier on my other post, I would expect samsung stores to be crowded as well since they offer 50% off for gear vr and gear 360. All that, and from your original post saying waste time petrol parking to go collect, buying from store on launch weekend itself also same wad

yeah then in any case you need to go road show, which is crowded anyways, hence the part i mentioned about queue.
