I dont normally jump into arguments, but this is seriously getting out of hands. Almost 2 pages talking about which discount has more worth?
crazycrazymanobvious sees lower price as better option, since the price drop is compared against RRP, and for people that dont need the freebies, obviously lower price is better, and warranty is like insurance. some people think insurance is a must have, while some doesnt even have insurance and still feel ok about it.
Also let's take S8 as example here, he gets 10% discount, which is RM300, in your case, you buy from RRP 3299, with freebies etc etc. He sells at 2.5k, I can bet the most you can sell also 2.8k, cos, let's look at the freebies. One clear SP, one clear case ( both offer almost no protection ), wireless charger( old model ), and additional one year warranty that by the time you sell is probably having one year left, and no more screen crack protection? So end of the day, you sell RM300 extra compared to him, but then again, he bought the phone Rm300 cheaper. It's basically the same right? Even if you sell slightly higher, 100 more compared to him, that's also a minor amount compared to the 'huge value' that you are talking about.
you forgot powerbank too bro.
but what you said is basically what i said too earlier.
in the absolute end, both are about the same value. Only difference is where that value is placed. One is placed on freebies, the other is placed on a discounted phone. and in the absolute end, both can coup back almost the same amount if they were to resell their phones or whatnot. The difference is not even more than rm100, its not like you will get rich from choosing one over the other. So just enjoy the phone instead of getting into silly little nitty gritty things. Same opinion goes to those worried about Galaxy S8 A that doesnt have 100% colour values compared to Galaxy S8 B. If you are happy and satisfied with YOUR Galaxy S8, dont go and compare with another Galaxy S8 because then you will never be truly satisfied as there definitely will be discrepancies in the screens.

you forgot the powerbank.
I would say it is more or less the same in value, the only difference being one is in freebies and another is discounted phone price..
as for me, i myself am planning to sell off the starter kit for maybe around 200-250. and maybe the powerbank too. I have a lot of powerbank at home but most are micro usb and not usb type C so maybe I would keep it.
But I guess I could sell it for about rm100.
So realistically speaking I could coup about rm300 from selling the freebies which is not too far off from the discounted price you get minus the freebies. But of course all this is provided I manage to find buyers in the first place. So some effort is needed here compared to yours which is outright savings already.
But the difference now I have is, I still have extended warranty and one time screen replacement. So not too bad I would say.
Oh and also that extended warranty + screen replacement you cant really put a monetary value on its worth since its like an insurance. If you did not buy it and you so happen to crack your screen, then all the arguments we made for our case above just goes out the window as that replacement itself is definitely costing more than rm1000.
So if you were to say go get the same protection plan which is rm250, then your phone price is rm 2900+rm250 = rm 3150. While I paid rm 3300 for mine and if I manage to sell the starter kit my actual cost is rm 3100.
As I said its value is almost similar with one another, no big difference in savings from one or the other.
Just my 2cents.
