Sorry to say I don't think the power bank, starter kits worth 600bucks. Only the warranty is worth the value. But still, the warranty terms and conditions has its requirements which again lower down the value.
Wireless charging - they give you an old tech. Resell value = rm90? Or lesser over time?
Screen protector - I'm getting it from my seller. Resell value = rm20? And I bet many here bought a different sp or coating. So true value= you won't use it.
Casing - I'm sure no one will use it. Surely everyone buy a spigen or some other case. ReSell value= unknown.
Yes. The one that's truly valuable is warranty. But again, you need to pay additional rm100 as labour cost and must meet within the criteria only you're entitled for the free exchange. Resell value - rm248 or lower.
Total = rm358.
But my question is What will these bring to you when you sell your s8? Value = unknown or maybe lesser than rm250.
But I have saved a Rm 396 in true value and i could invest in sth else. This is my sense of mathematics for being a realist.
It might not be true. But I welcome followers to throw in your calculation. Peace yo.
you forgot the powerbank.
I would say it is more or less the same in value, the only difference being one is in freebies and another is discounted phone price..
as for me, i myself am planning to sell off the starter kit for maybe around 200-250. and maybe the powerbank too. I have a lot of powerbank at home but most are micro usb and not usb type C so maybe I would keep it.
But I guess I could sell it for about rm100.
So realistically speaking I could coup about rm300 from selling the freebies which is not too far off from the discounted price you get minus the freebies. But of course all this is provided I manage to find buyers in the first place. So some effort is needed here compared to yours which is outright savings already.
But the difference now I have is, I still have extended warranty and one time screen replacement. So not too bad I would say.
Oh and also that extended warranty + screen replacement you cant really put a monetary value on its worth since its like an insurance. If you did not buy it and you so happen to crack your screen, then all the arguments we made for our case above just goes out the window as that replacement itself is definitely costing more than rm1000.
So if you were to say go get the same protection plan which is rm250, then your phone price is rm 2900+rm250 = rm 3150. While I paid rm 3300 for mine and if I manage to sell the starter kit my actual cost is rm 3100.
As I said its value is almost similar with one another, no big difference in savings from one or the other.
Just my 2cents.
