guitars with only a single bridge pickup tend to sound a little sharper is it ? can it still play strong rhythm?

i think he meant single coils.

well single coils tend to sound brighter(i believe this is the correct term instead of sharper). good for rhythm strumming and melodic tunes, but gonna have a hard time for heavy downstroke riffs. not impossible, just a tad harder. also, single coils tend to blend more with the band than humbuckers(think orchestra). so it's hard to cut through the rhythm with it.

i meant humbuckers

so having a single bridge humbucker, will heavy downstroke riffs still sound heavy? i've never tried one before. what models have this pickup setup?

For the AX-50.... I think EMG Actives (Especially the 81/85 combo) would be freakin' hot on that. As that is already a guitar made for metal, what better option then to use one of the hottest pickups available on the market. Smokin' hot.

And wear can I find the Warmoth? Rough price for a Rosewood fretboard?

thanks for the info. i'll probably get them when i have the bread drool.gif

if i change my string gauge set from .09 to .11, will it make much difference to the guitar if i keep it in standard tuning?
