Guys, with HDR turned on both PS4 slim and LG UHD 4K TV, the display is quite dark. Any idea ?
*
Not sure how LG TV handle HDR signal. Usually when the TV detect HDR signal, the backlight is automatically adjusted to max (i.e. 20)

My TV detect the HDR, but somehow the display is quite dark...

Then manually adjust your backlight to 20.

Also, check if your firmware is up to date.

Hi all,

Am new to PS. Any idea where I can get better deal PS4 slim 500GB around Subang, Puchong or Shah Alam area? Including additional Controller and maybe some games. Thanks if anyone can enlighten me.

P/S: I’m not familiar with all the specs, warranty and also package included, so I don’t want to take risk buying online (Lazada and 11street etc. )

Pls recommend me some place to visit to get good deals.
Thanks.

Gamers Hideout, Heavy-Arm. Should have CNY sales coming soon or already started. Buying on Lazada/11street is actually very safe and usually have the best price. You can research prices on Lazada before visiting these stores

ok.. but u can have the DLC one ur Msia account and play the DLC at ur US account?
*
likely not a problem.

the better explanation is - you need to buy DLC from the same region in order for it to 'apply' to your base game. after that, don't think it matters whether u login into ur which account to play

Thinking of buying a new TV. I've heard samsung KS8000 is good. Anyone using? couldn't find here in Malaysia or is it with different code? -.-"

Is there any other suggestion?
*
KS8000 is code for US model. The equivalent model in Malaysia is KS7000. Not likely you can find it now since it's 2016 model, and everybody literally bought whatever is left after seeing the pricing and specs for 2017 model

QUOTE(dOtcOm @ Feb 28 2018, 05:55 PM)
no wonder. So what's the equivalent 2017 model? I just recently started surveying the TV and i'm so confused with this sooo many marketing terms, like for HDR only i saw HDR, HDR PREMIUM, HDR 1000, Dolby Vision..wth.. If i want good HDR tv, i'll need to look at HDR1000 tv or Dolby Vision right? I know for gaming i'll need tv with lower input lag. But i'm not that hardcore in fps to care that much. I mostly want good graphic, and watching videos and blurays a lot.
*
For 2017 models, Samsung got greedy and split the 2016 KS models into 2 line-ups

MU8000, MU9000 - have Wide Color Gamut (but not as good) and suppossedly can reach 1000nits of peak brightness (though rtings test suggest otherwise). Build wise similar to KS models but lack Quantum Dot Technology

QLED series - using Quantum Dot Technology and supposedly have higher peak brightness of 1500nits. More expensive

To achieve ‘true HDR’, the specs for LCD TV are at least 1000nits of peak brightness and have WCG. 4K TVs that can meet this spec will usually carry the ‘Ultra HD Premium Certified’ logo bestowed by the UHD Alliance.

You see a lot of mid-range 4K TVs marketing they have HDR - truth is they can receive HDR signal, but they can’t output the required PQ quality. You get some improvement compare to non-HDR, but it’s not the 100% HDR experience.

If not urgent, you might as well wait after March/April when new 2018 models arrived. Then price for 2017 models should be reduced to clear stocks.

For comparison, you can get a 55’’ KS7000 for about RM5000 this time last year. I kinda doubt you can get a 55’’ inch Samsung Q7F at this price...

to truly enjoy HDR gaming, need at least a 55" 4K HDR10 tv am i right?
*
To do HDR justice, yes u need at least 1000nits with wide color gamut

Enjoying is a subjective matter tbh biggrin.gif I upgraded from a 5-year old 32" Philips Full HD LCD to 55" Samsung KS7000 and it was a huge WOW for me. After a year using, how i wish I could have gotten bigger size... tongue.gif

Anyway in general, I think ppl recommend 55" inch and above for 4K TV. That's why u see very few choices below 55" because is not really recommended (unless ur TV viewing distance is quite near). think the smallest size 4K TV is like 49" at least?

For PS4 Pro + 4K TV user, should enable "Supersampling Mode" ?
*
don't think it will make any difference.

PS4 can auto-detect the resolution of your TV.

Hi guys, may i know anyone know how to adjust HDR for  samsung ua65ju6000 & sharp LCUE630X for this 2 models? I unable to set or enable HDR in ps4 pro. Setting for whole night & cannot solve it.
1. Samsung - cannot found UHD color in picture option setting.
2. Sharp - able set it to 2k -RGB in ps4 resolution setting.
*
both TV don't have HDR capability.

HDR not need setting 1. PS4 Pro will auto-detect what your TV is capable.

Try switching ur HDMI port around? And also check Samsung TV setting and enable “HDMI UHD Color”

2160p is 4K. But non HDR content should normally output using 2160p RGB.

Considering you own a GTX 1060 rig, I'll say go for PRO. Scared you later get fed-up by the FPS and resolution laugh.gif

If you currently using a 4K tv, you shall go for PS4 Pro. Unless you have extra budget to purchase a 4K TV and PS4 Pro together, if not i only can advise you to go for slim version. PS4 Pro is meaningless if u using non-4k TV
*
Not true. The better performance of PS4 Pro is worth the buy over slim. Better FPS, Boost Mode and not to mention that Sony recently patch it with Supersampling mode (meaning better graphics even with a non-4K TV or monitor)

I am not sure which games that u refer to are utter ass on a 4K TV. But most of my gamer friends/ clan mates are currently using PS4 Pro on a 4k TV are satisfied with the 4k HDR output. I seldom (or never) heard that PS4 Pro on a 1080p TV which absolutely under utilised a good console.... Imagine a lamborghini who a driver only can drive at 60kmps....utterly joke
*
Some games are quite horrible to run at 4K because it was not optimised in the first place. For eg FFXV at 4K still have framedrop issues

Not all Pro-Enabled games have the same graphics performance.

Anyway, the whole point of the discussion is that it is not a waste to use a PS4 Pro on a 1080p TV. You’ll still get better graphics performance and supersampling mode.

Will it be better with a 4K TV? Depends. I doubt your average Msian gamers can buy those high-end TVs which have true HDR

actually, the price difference is not much now RM999-1100 for Slim vs. RM1299-1399 for Pro. Just the difference of 1-2 new game title.

When Pro was RM1799-1899 during launch time and out of stock last time, then I understand la...

Anyway, it's up to individuals. But I always feel if you need to care about RM100-200 difference, then owning a PS4 might not be good (financial wise) since a game can easily cost that much

Where can get ps4 Pro with that price range? All I see now 1799
*
Usually when there’s a Lazada sales campaign, you’ll see sellers emerge selling basic PS4 Pro console (console + 1 controller) for that level of pricing.

At RM1799 should easily get a PS4 Pro + 2 controllers + 1 or 2 games + PS Plus or extended warranty at game shops.

Those listing in Lazada currently just hoping someone will impulse buy before surveying.

I’m having some input lag/dropped inputs from my controllers.

- this is apparent on all my controllers
- works well when there is a line of sight.
- blocking it a little will make it go bad. Even crossing my legs will cause input drops.
- I’m sitting about 2 meters away from then PS4 pro.
- router is also about 2 meters away from the PS4. Tried switching it off. It helps a little, but the issue still persist.
- PS4 has not been moved/dropped.
- when I connect the dualshock via usb, the issue did not occur.
- recently added an external and the platinum headphones wireless dongle (via a usb extension). Could that be an issue ?

Any encountered the same problem ?
Any possible solution to this ?

there's nearby interference from other WiFi/Bluetooth gadget.

for me, I experience this when my phone is nearby my controller. Just switched off the Wi-Fi and I'm good
