QUOTE(mztang52 @ Aug 6 2017, 04:49 PM) I changed it to TP-Link Archer C1200 but it is not working well. Try a better router? Archer C7 or Archer C3150, or if budget is bigger, you can try Asus RT-AC68U? The ping on my Archer C7 is consistently under 10ms and the worse ping times are usually 10-20ms, but it rarely does that.I am okay with private IP as my CCTV DVR runs on P2P cloud. So, it is not a big issue for me. I am using TP-Link Archer C1200 connected with Astro IPTV decoder but the problem is when I connect with custom router, my internet speed and ping will go low and high. Basically, it is not consistent . |

QUOTE(mztang52 @ Aug 6 2017, 06:42 PM) Not that I can see at the moment. Your AC1200 is one step lower than the C7, so if you can't afford to change at the moment, it should be sufficient to do the job, even though the ping times and internet speed is not consistent, unfortunately.Just wondering if the internal router settings for the AC1200 is causing the problem or could it be on Maxis's side. |

QUOTE(mztang52 @ Aug 7 2017, 01:11 PM) They won't do so unless it's unavoidable i.e. a serious vulnerability, or for commercial reasons i.e. then sales for their products are bad. If you want constant firmware updates from a networking company, you have to go with Asus routers as they constantly get firmware updates, even the older routers. |

QUOTE(ccschua @ Apr 24 2020, 11:17 AM) I am still using technicolor which is really primitive. no control at all. Yes, just replace and key in your PPPoE username and password, and you are set.i have a Archer C9, can I know how to connect it ? just replace and key in username and password (which I have just obtained fr maxis support) or I still need to key in some configuration ? |

QUOTE(ccschua @ Apr 25 2020, 10:49 AM) unplug the maxis technicolor and connect to my archer c9. See the video above, you need to enable VLAN tagging as Unif and Maxis are utilising VLAN tagging.with all the enthusiasm, I key in the username (xxxx@home.maxis.com.my) and password (as given by maxis), it just could not connect to internet. spend the whole night and nothing works. back to square 1. i feel so disappointed with maxis. |
