Hi there Maxis, I have a TG784N V3 router but someone hacked into my Maxis TG784N V3 router and changed the firmware. Hence, I want to request the original Maxis TG784N V3 firmware and install it into my router. Thanks in advance.

You can factory reset the router and it will reset to the firmware that comes with it. However, since I am a unifi user, I do not guarantee you. Do at your own risk. thumbsup.gif

TG784N looks like very easy to hack. Why do they keep releasing routers like this?

Nowadays after market routers does support maxis fiber. Why don't you opt for that?

Who knows. Can't they just use routers like Asus or something better.

Because they want me to use back their router in order to create a report number.

Just change to another router if you're not using VoIP or IPTV. That will solve all your problems.

I am okay with private IP as my CCTV DVR runs on P2P cloud. So, it is not a big issue for me.

I am using TP-Link Archer C1200 connected with Astro IPTV decoder but the problem is when I connect with custom router, my internet speed and ping will go low and high. Basically, it is not consistent .

Try a better router? Archer C7 or Archer C3150, or if budget is bigger, you can try Asus RT-AC68U? The ping on my Archer C7 is consistently under 10ms and the worse ping times are usually 10-20ms, but it rarely does that.

Is there any cheaper router that can work as well as C7? Archer C7 is too expensive to me.

Not that I can see at the moment. Your AC1200 is one step lower than the C7, so if you can't afford to change at the moment, it should be sufficient to do the job, even though the ping times and internet speed is not consistent, unfortunately.

Just wondering if the internal router settings for the AC1200 is causing the problem or could it be on Maxis's side.

I think the Archer C1200 does not work well with Maxis's system because when I use it with UniFi, it is working very well.

That might be it. Different settings on Maxis's end, so can't do anything about it.

They won't do so unless it's unavoidable i.e. a serious vulnerability, or for commercial reasons i.e. then sales for their products are bad. If you want constant firmware updates from a networking company, you have to go with Asus routers as they constantly get firmware updates, even the older routers.
