what's the zoom range when you're snapping those bird portraits?

my tammy 70-300mm is pretty soft when i'm at 300mm.

most of the shots are above 200mm and neva reached 300mm
max is 260mm f7.1, u have to increase the aperture number if ur shooting close to 300mm to get more sharpness... if i would goto 300mm, i will increase to f8-11

will post them next week, this weekend i meeting philipino chicks... hope can get some nice portrait stay tuned

normally i stick with the highest aperture i can get from my lens. i've never considered lowering it as i'll need slower shutter speed. either that or bump ISO.

no mate, u can;t stick to the highest aperture when ur near the far end zoom...
pls refer to the MTF chart, it shows that when at 300mm, to get more sharpnes, u have to tune to f/8 to f/11
