According to this list here, HBH-DS970 is not working with PS3.

CRTs are always the preferred HDTVs for me, nothing beats the deep blacks and color saturations. LCDs are a compromise on both accounts. Unfortunately , it is tough to find a 1080p CRTs locally, and at the size of that 1080p CRT HDTVs , i have to reinforce my current cabinet to support its weight.

I've grown to like LCDs.

i just dled the asian one, the file name is PS3UPDAT_1.PUP instead of PS3UPDAT.PUP, shud i amend it, or keeit it as is?

is it save to update the firmware from other region?i was thinking of waiting till it release in HK website....coz my unit is HK(asian)version....coz the website says tat america firmware for america console only...if update in other region the compatibility is not guranteed

ps3 jpn/hk/twn/sgp can only play NTSC/J ps2 games.
most NTSC/J ps2 games is in JPN language.

if u prefer playing english ps2 games, my advice buy a ps2

There are no PAL fix at the Display settings. They remained the same.

I know, its depressing. I figured as much, since PAL settings have one of those weird 50/60Hz HD resolutions to contend with , so that complicated things.
