seems like SE is running out of ideas nowadays..like youngkies said,the specs are more or less like the w850i just that its in a candybar form

next, maybe they transform them into clamshell,

same design, but different shell only!

after that,turn it into swivel phone...

its probably bcoz most of their phones after k750i has more or less has the same function,that way ppl feel that their buying the same thing in different form factor...and that 'ppl' include me!!!

sounds like nokia's approach
if no AF... then i think many ppl wont consider liow lor....
but design wise is not bad

panasonic88, how come you can find much nicer and detail pictures than me hehe

Anyway, what I like about this phone is the design which got influenced from the Nokia's L'Amour fashion phone flower design. Instead, Sony Ericsson did a great job on the flower design and it's attractive.

Again: Red for women, Black for men.

i guess it's cause SE did not overdo it like Nokia who implemented the flower design to the whole phone.

er..seem SE oso follow samsung o nokia step, dint change much on phone design, onli change a little bit, similiar spec, then hamtam to market...try to penetrate to diff market segment???

quit sum time SE dint give 'surprise"after W n K series lo...

try to penetrate diff segment? yes or:

1. new phone = new price. for the same hardware, but just some different look, it can be sold at totally new price.

2. more choices for the consumer. for those wanted to buy new walkman phone, but thinking of w850i is quite old (getting outdated) and very common, then this is your another choice, new phone.

3. marketing strategy. aiming for less cost, more profit, same hardware, diff look/design.

the red colour looks seduces me.. but there's nothing much different on the specs. Doubt that SE put AF on this phone. This phone also have flash light or not? I don't see any flash light on the picture...

So many type ppl...not everyone must need AF rite?


Same class as K600/608/618? (176 x 220 pixels, 2 inches, no LED flash, 3G)

if added AF, cost to consumer will naik as well...

The black match the darker gold = good match (maybe SE get bored on early batch Orange Walkman? )

last time SE did mention about AF for K Series...

It is almost the same la... every company is doing it...
jus like LCD TV as well... specs not much differences...

haha.. not anymore.. because coming w610i have the autofocus, spec is quite the same as w810i with different look.

so AF is coming back to Walkman phone. but not to all walkman series.

well for certain only... as i said...
coz not much ppl using it also...
frenly speaking... gals duno how to use it... not all but most of them...
my gf jus snap directly... never use auto focus also... haha...

W610i is officially announced quite some time ago, not marketed yet. and it did surprised a lot of people for SE to bring back AF to walkman series when W610i announcement was made.

anyone know what price it will be launched ? I believe the red would be limited edition ??

Have a look at W660 vs W610

You can see what direction is SE heading to.

Look quite the same:

- Plain surface & classy black or unique colors
- The typical keypad vs. the controversial tiny-button keypad
- Candy bar of about same size

I wonder where is the fastport placement, bottom or side?

For the specs, W660i seems to replace w850i while W610i replacing the w810i. 3G vs non-3G. Non-AF vs AF. Otherwise, they are the same. More choices.

Other factors to be judge at later stage: Price, availability.

if i were to choose between w660i & w850i
i'd get the w660i
as w850i is having problems with their sliders, d pad crack etc

i am comparing the two new coming walkman phone w660 vs w610i la..

w660 vs w610? which will you go for? that is some hard choices now!

3G is essential for me
to do video calls
so my vote would go for w660i
