I'm further away from the causeway, a couple of days before the deadline already my old dual SIM phone became like single SIM.  shakehead.gif

I think XR Note4 lets you use 3G on both slots, no sure... but with the older phones you'll have to choose which one you want to turn off.

If you need to visit Singapore frequently and plan to buy a new phone, you'll have to be careful what phone you choose. I think not all new phones can support the use of 3G on both slots, or 4G on one and 3G on the other.

It sounds not the problem with the phone. My suspect is that maxis has partnership with Singtel for roaming, so when u are on roaming to Singtel, it appears like as home network or something. Just my guess.

Yes, Maxis' roaming partner is Singtel but regardless, any Singapore network you put to 2G will not get a connection anymore...

yes, 2G network is already closed in lion city.

unless one is using the super super old device, else i assume most ppl are using the newer smartphone nowadays, i dun think the issue one encounter for this is due to 2g network.

no one will manually select 2g network also. nowadays no new smartphone u can set ur phone to 2G mode only. only option is to turn on and off 4g only.

2G have nothing to do with super super old phone lah. 2G have stronger signal and wider coverage than 3G. Take a look telco coverage map of Sarawak. People over there also human being too.  Better 2G than No Service bro
And u must be not using GPS tracker.

I am talking about the case mentioned above the possible cause phone is manually set to 2g and due to the shutdown of 2g network in lion city. Nothing to do with 2g devices or who are still using 2g.

Obviously the forumer is not using 2g only device thus I said his no coverage in lion city cannot be due to 2g network only selected in his phone becos newer phone does not come with the function to select 2g only.
