Hi. Just for asking for opinion for anybody here. If i planning to get the laser treatment for my acne scar on my face, how long of day will effect of peeling skin will clear? Since my job is required me to see a client, so need to get the rough estimation of day the peeling will appear after do a laser treatment for my skin. I plan to do it on this week on Friday since there are 4 day is free before i start the work on next Tuesday. Hope anyone that have an experience doing a laser treatment for acne scar on face will sharing input. Thanks

for my case I actually healed at 4th day, rest a bit at 5th day.

maybe u can tell the doc dun use high power laser coz u only got 4 days

i'm doing co2 laser btw.

if you are very busy i recommend glo laser centre. the laser treatment there will require many treatment sessions which lasts 15 minutes each but the good news is it will not have any downtime. you will go and leave the place looking like you haven't had any facial. i had 10 treatments so far and everyone says my face is better now. less pigmentation, smaller pores and faded scars.

for my case doc said i really need subcision coz my acne scar quite deep (but subcision is quite painful for me)

so depends on doc advice

i felt the scars improved a lot, like 50% less obvious

i will go do the treatment again (but probably I will opt out subcision even though it is much effective)

Glo Lasers didn't do much for me. I ended up selling off the rest of my package as it wasn't working.

I guess it depends what type of acne scars you have as well. My derm recommended TCA peel for the deep scars I have. I've went for 2 TCA peels already so far. Overall slightly better but scars still very much visible in my opinion. Downtime about 5-7 days as there will be scabs forming then it'll drop off on its own.

May i know what derm that your refer and for the TCA peel, how much it cost you? Previously i already try the TCA in dermatologist at Melaka but not very clear my acne as much as i expect and also the downtime also take almost a week. Since previously, i doing in my collegue time, its okay but for now i already have a career and need to visit a customer daily. So, TCA peel seem like no suitable for me. huhu

no one can fully recover in 1 treatment, for my case i think need at least 2 or 3 treatments more

but i'm quite satisfied now as the acne scar look less obvious already

And so, when you went for laser treatment, is it when your acne all clear already or still got mild acne?

i mean after the laser the skin will have reddish, and also feels uncomfortable & the area will have some temporary wrinkles. so if TS needs to see clients often then might not be a good solution as after the laser the scar is more obvious.

also another method is to inject steroids, plus laser.

however, we don't know TS's scar issue, if it's like whole face is like sand paper, how to laser? i think another way is to sand the face to smoothen the holes, wait for recover, then sand again.

anyway please go to proper hospital/medical center/skin clinic with certified doctors. don't simply go those skincare center.

2k for laser is carrot. it takes only 1 minute to warm up the machine & 1 second to laser. normally it's under rm100 per session including consultation.

2.5 - 3k is 1 session (laser + subcision), the doc will advice which treatment suitable for you.

subcision is use when one have a very serious acne scar, like me.

if no subcision, i remember the price is around rm1.8k something

personally, i would take 1 or 2 subcision the most, because even though effective, it is very painful (co2 laser pain still bearable to me)

if u still have acne, probably need to get medication from doc first until it clear

personally my acne stop 5 - 6 years ago, now my skin is oily and grow white head everyday, but not much acne.

the one who perform laser on me is dermatology specialist, not some beauty center staff

to operate that co2 fractional laser, one need special license for it, that's why it is so expensive (near rm2k)

i actually query around, rm2k should be fair price for laser + subcision (i'm doing for whole face, not a spot)

those rm100 is another type of laser, and not operate by doctor

dunno about u, mine's operated by Doctor cum Surgeon. it's like a Deee then a Pssffff then you can smell something burning. might be different laser but i see them use the same laser on most scars.

ur price includes subcision that is why expensive. and you went to dermatologist or skin care beauty center? i tell u, beauty center will be more expensive (in the end) coz top up here & there.

for me, it's follow up procedure for my nose job so i pay consultation + laser around rm100 per session.

another note is doctors might not know if you have scar issues like Keloid (scar grows bigger & thicker), if you have, then subcision is not suitable for you. easy way to tell if you are keloid prone is check ur old scars or injection scars like BCG etc, u can see many girls have Keloid problem when their scar is thick, big & dark. if you don't know, don't do whole face all at once, try 1 or 2 pokes 1st and see the result.

for the acne, what medication the doctor prescribed you? because i know common type is the antibiotics, however it's not a long term solution as once you stop it will reoccur. or did you solve ur acne due to the subcision & laser? How long were you on the meds? Any side effects like fatigue?

u got control ur oil & fat intake?

rarely i see cats got Acne problems.

my acne cured ady like 5-6 years ago. I still having oily skin and white head problem now, but not acne.

I don't have keloid scar, so ordinary laser + subcision is sufficient

I do notice if I eat more vege, my skin will be slightly less oily, but slightly, not huge improvement

sure can consult dr ko. but i doubt they will even charge more since they are the most famous in KL

There are plenty of clinics in Klang Valley that does ALL treatment, which is pretty rojak

However, Peters Radiant Clinic located at Kota Kemuning is specialised in laser treatment for acne and acne scar. Yes, while Kota Kemuning is a little far for most of us, they are well-known for treating acne scar on face.

It depends on the seriousness of your acne and scar. Most clinics are providing free consultation these days anyway, go for the consultation first before deciding.

i think not for me for bad acne...last a few month i already do 2 subcision + 5 laser that cause me around 4k++ juz to treat my acen scar but end result very minimal...do have improvement but not very impress me..

if i not mistaken (not laser expert here), ultra pulse is the new type of co2 laser, stronger and more effective (but i heard more painful also).

i think the one i did is traditional co2 laser.
