Both up and down. For the easy setup, same rate limit to up & down. You can also do different rate limits.

I see. Yeah, it can be quite intimidating but now got Quickset wizard and a setup guide here. As for setting rate limit, I don't think it gets easier than this:

For "easy to use", I guess you can also look at Archer C5 or one of the Asus models.
Archer C5 is like this.

Hey everyone I would appreciate and be able to help on guest bandwidth control.

The current TP-Link Archer c5 v2 having issue with guest bandwidth control, you only able to limit upload but not download. I contacted TPLink and they reproduce a new firmware to me to get it work and not release to public

- Unfortunately to say the Archer c5 provided to me having issue with LAN port keep on intermittent and cut off. I m so happy they finally get it replace c1200
yesterday

Feedback on archer c1200
- no guest bandwidth control
- The biggest impact , the router take ages to boot up, compare to archer c5 , is it normal. Can everyone feedback on this router how long take to boot up on your router, or just happened to mine only

Are there any router support bandwidth control by SSID? For instance, create 2 SSID from the router and 1st SSID have full bandwidth without limit while 2nd SSID with bandwidth limit like first class and economy class in airline. blush.gif

Most routers, but not all, can do that. Here's an example from a Mikrotik router. The "mtk" SSID is limited to 10/10 Mbps.

Before I upgraded to the Huawei WS880, I was using the entry-level ASUS RT-N12D1.

It also has the bandwidth limiter function with the latest firmware.

It is only RM149 at Lazada.

http://www.lazada.com.my/asus-rt-n12-d1-hi...r-10869979.html

I am currently using the RT-N12D1 as a backup router in case anything happens to the WS880.

Does this router ASUS RT-N12D1 support WDS Bridging ? I was wondering if i can bridge this between a MIFI with the Asus through WDS bridging because i wanted to use the bandwidth limiter function on the ASUS to limit ip based user so the data won't burn fast on the MIFI.

Does TP-Link TL-WR841N or TL-WR840N support this bandwidth limit feature?
