QUOTE(clawhammer @ Sep 21 2007, 12:51 PM) The guy from the shop introduced this phone to me when I bought my N95. I fiddled around and the interface, touch screen are very well built. If only it had 16 million colours and a better camera, I'd go for it. i'm really curious about the photo quality of n95 and p1i...imho, bigger megapixel doesn't really make it a better camera... |

QUOTE(karlcheong @ Sep 23 2007, 12:09 AM) Short review of using P1i for 1 week after flashing to chinese support : still rather confused...so with english firmware, i can read chinese but not write?? not even with pinyin?1) the phone do feel a bit slow compare to english firmware. Its only very minimal. Not significant at all. 2) handwriting of chinese is just awesome. Eventhough u write in tradition chinese it still recognise and display it in simplified character. (the phone only support simplified chinese). 3) didnt try out pinyin and stroke... handwriting is more than enough. 4) there is a function to call My words not sure what is it maybe for us to add in new words ? 5) SMS function come with bold, large/small size font and smiley, but it make no different as the recipient cant see the different (maybe the recipient need to be P1i as well) 6) handwriting of english is slow, on screen keyboard is much more faster. The qwerty keyboard... arrr.....still need some time to get more time to practice. 7) battery life : normal usage sms, bluetooth, call.. will last u about 2 days. To improve battery life try to switch off bluetooth, 3G and wlan and close all program that are still running in the background if u dont use it (especially 3D Golf) 8) business card scanner: its basically a black and white scanner c/w OCR, can scan chinese as well. This function works find, most of the time u still need to edit the info after scan. A scan copy of the business card will appear in you phone book. The is really useful. 9) this phone is using the newer version of UIQ 3, therefore most of the old UIQ 3 games dont support. Overall this phone is superb, no regret buying it. high quality build, elegant design. kinda troublesome thinking about getting a chinese firmware update..... |

QUOTE(sunauto @ Sep 25 2007, 12:40 AM) Wanted to buy P1i initially but they keypad is too hard to use, I'm not used to it so I give up, better go for some old school keypads instead which will be more user friendly. LOL, opinions like that are what makes the p1i price drop certain after w960i is released QUOTE(fx_53_xt @ Sep 25 2007, 04:03 AM) imho the R6E30 is stable enough. just some very minor bug need to be sorted out ermm...can i have ur phone then?? don make me heart broken. i wasn't really rational when i purchased the phone and if the price drop drastically i'll suicide. |
