first your home router got wat settings? any wep key? i have no problem connecting to my aztech. And i have seen some forum says certain router cant be connected, but I havent met one yet. So I would ask u double check both home router and your p1i settings

For those having problems connecting to your wifi, please check your wifi settings to make sure that it is set to allow BOTH .11b and .11g connections. Otherwise, you won't be able to connect as most wifi routers have been pre-configured to allow only .11g connections.

Also, if you are on WEP, please re-key in your password on your P1, sometimes, using the keypad on it, you can accidentally key in the wrong alpha-numeric keys .... some of us have big fingers and sometimes the keypad register another key stroke instead of the one we pressed.

Hope this will help some of you out there with wifi connection issues.

Hi Zypher, erm..sorry i am a noob. err..how do you set the .11g and .11b ? So sorru if its a stupid question..really not familiar with the p1i yet.

that setting is on your wifi router and not on the P1 but it needs to be set as P1 is only .11b capable.

If you don't have access to the wifi router (e.g. in office environment), you'll need to speak to sys admin and get them to allow it and then only your P1 can access the internet.

ooooohhhhhh..shoot!! okay okay i get it. means i can only use p1i's wifi in controlled places (where i can control the settings) and i cant do it in other place-ler????

Not necessarily .. depends on whether these places used default settings (usually meaning .11g only) or maybe they have changed the configuration to .11b and .11g. You'll need to test it out to know.

Check your own router setting first and change it to .11b and .11g, then try to surf. If you can surf at home and then later you go to starbucks or other public places and can't surf, you'll know that they have default configuration.
