Did they refer you to Pusrawi or Prince Court? I was at Prince Court and they didn't give the result to me, they sent it straight to HR.Working with Petronas?, Work environment, benefits and culture?

QUOTE(yogurt7 @ Mar 6 2013, 09:05 PM) Thanks bro. Prince Court actually emailed the conclusion to Petronas HR and sent the full hardcopy later.QUOTE(kripton888 @ Mar 7 2013, 01:54 PM) They provide you a referral letter to a specific medical centre so you can't go anywhere else, and it is only their panel.I've seen a lot of people here being sent to Pusrawi, rarely to Prince Court like me. Even then the doc told me that he is sent about 200 new employees for assessment every month, so that's Prince Court alone you can imagine how many overall. The attrition rate in Petronas is disturbingly high, either that or they're just rapidly growing. This post has been edited by aiman04: Mar 7 2013, 02:30 PM |

QUOTE(yogurt7 @ Mar 7 2013, 04:06 PM) Most people I know gets the offer letter the next working day, because usually once they sent you for medical they already have the offer letter ready, just holding for the medical result. But my case is different, I only receive news a week after, even after I emailed her asking about it. Considering you're being handled by the same person as me, I'm not sure. Maybe you get it today, maybe in a week. Contact her if you don't heard anything after a few days. |

QUOTE(yogurt7 @ Mar 21 2013, 07:08 PM) mayday mayday...i remember one of our forumer didn't pass the medical test on 1st time due to high cholesterol? No worries bro, just get yourself on an exercise program and cholesterol-busting diet. Once you're confident, one month should be enough, go back for another checkup. If I'm not mistaken only for the problematic area, in your case BP and cholesterol level. Should be cheap as you'll be paying it yourself this time.just got a call from HR, unfortunately, i need to re-take my medical check up (maybe within 1 ~ 3 months ) due to high BP and high cholesterol. my BMI is OK, still not under obese group... advice needed... You can consider yourself already hired bro, just take it as a chance to get yourself fit again. |

QUOTE(AMINT @ Mar 21 2013, 09:07 PM) I dont think petronas really bother that much for obese employee. I see so many obese guys and girls in petronas. Or is it because they are subject matter experts? They seemed to be old though This is for pre-employment, mostly for offshore purpose bro. And once you're in, the worst they can do is not allow you to go offshore anymore when you can no longer be considered fit for it.QUOTE(misskiki @ Mar 21 2013, 09:18 PM) They'll only inform you if there are any issues, otherwise they'll just send it straight to Petronas HR. But you can always ask, it's your own health report, I suppose you can even ask them to print the whole report for you. In my case, the doctor let me take my chest X-ray home to keep. |

Hi guys,
HR wants me to start on June 17 reporting straight to PIPE, but I want to start July 1. Is it possible to postpone the start date? Emailed and called HR but they're out of office though. I know they do PIPE serveral sessions every year. But is PIPE mandatory before commencing the real work? Can I start working first and then attend PIPE later? The reason I ask is that if the answer is no, then I'll know I have no chance to postpone my start date, they won't postpone the PIPE just because of me (unless they do it every 2 weeks, doubtful). Thanks. QUOTE(ikrex @ Apr 5 2013, 08:32 PM) may i ask, i had done my medical at Prince Court too.. the staff said they will sent it by email.. but the petronas staff said they havent received any report yet and they ask for the date of when the report was courier .. this had me confuse They will email the result to HR on the spot, but the full report will be delivered physically to HR later. PETRONAS' internal doctor will review the full report and give final approval. Should the be no problem with you health, you'll get the offer letter the next working day or a week later, depending on the HR personnel that handles your employment.does the report need to be sent both by email and post? and in your case, how long do you wait for petronas to release an offer letter after the med assmnt? would really appreciate if you could share some insight regarding this matter |

QUOTE(ikrex @ Apr 5 2013, 09:31 PM) its been a week since my medical, i just called the petronas HR late this evening, and they said they havent received my medical report.. that makes nervous all of sudden No problem. Some of the HR staffs are new and they don't actually know the real status. I've experience this myself where one is saying the exact opposite from the other. And there's one staff that I have identified with another member here who takes a lot longer than others to process.anyway.. thanks bro for sharing some insight ...good luck with your work QUOTE(kb9 @ Apr 6 2013, 12:15 AM) It doesn't matter really, you can go for PIPE later. They pretty much have session once a month now, if not back-to-back. But I'll advise to not start any later than July 1 though, to make sure that you'll be entitled for next year's bonus hehe Thank you so much bro! Yeah, never thought about the bonus thing, but yes I won't start any later than July 1. Will they entertain my request to delay? Or is the offer final? |

QUOTE(yogurt7 @ Apr 6 2013, 07:58 AM) probably because July is Ramadhan? there will no PIPE session on Ramadhan, right? might be the reason they want you to do the PIPE session earlier... You're right! How could I forget that. If they do allow me to start July 1, I might be doing PIPE in August. Hopefully by then hopefully we'll do it together bro. |

Just wondering as I will be starting on 1st July, meaning it won't be in the "more than" category. |

QUOTE(mangoman @ Apr 15 2013, 10:36 PM) Thanks bro. Of course it will be pro-rated, I ask because I heard that 6 months of working for that particular year will be eligible for bonus, except I'm not sure whether I must exceed the 6 months or at least 6 months. |

QUOTE(alhakam88 @ Apr 16 2013, 08:41 PM) I don't think u will get bonus for 2013. Unless u confirm before 2013end. Your bonus will be pro rated based on days after confirmation. If u can push hr to make ujoin petronas in may or june, u will confirm before 2013 end and u r eligible for bonus. Since i am confirmed in march 2013, i dont get any this year. It is the same for my friend who confirmed in early january 2013. Don't hope too much until u r confirmed. I know about confirmation and pro-rated stuffs, I've worked with 5 companies before joining PETRONAS. Thanks anyway.Seems like no one can answer my question. Never mind then I'll just let it pass, not hoping for anything just being curious. This post has been edited by aiman04: Apr 16 2013, 09:16 PM |

QUOTE(mangoman @ Apr 16 2013, 11:39 PM) Sorry bro, you know in PETRONAS especially related to HR matters, there are so many unwritten rules that no one can explain why/how. Just like we had adjustment early this year due to changes in the job grade structure, everyone gets different amount but nobody knows exactly how the value is determined. Yeah bro, I'm not expecting anything. Was just being curious. I have a bond to repay my current company if I leave early, that is why I delayed my reporting date to PETRONAS. Was just looking at all the possible scenarios, but never mind as either way I will still be at the losing end. Leave early I have to pay the bond so I'm hoping for some compensation in the form of that bonus, leave after the bond term ended I don't have to pay but no bonus for sure. No big deal. Thank you for your answers. So my advice is, don't take anything for granted until the money has been banked in to your account. It works all the time. QUOTE(azraeil @ Apr 17 2013, 12:34 AM) I know for a fact that if you miss the cut-off date even for 1 day (for promotion, merit, bonus or what not), PETRONAS HR will really follow the rule to the letter in not giving you those things .... Yup, I can see that. And based on their crazy game with me from the first interview until now (still haven't received revised offer letter with new starting date), the answer is an easy NO. Knowledge is power and Petronas HR likes their power and therefore they keep all the necessary policies etc close to their chests. I had an executive handbook before which probably have not been updated for ages. I think I wrote somewhere my current company Industrial Relations Manual which is 17 chapters long with 7 appendixes and we have 7 different payrolls. I love it because it's all transparent and if you have any questions with regards to anything (your entitlement etc etc), you just send a query to personnel and they will respond with the necessary clarifications. And the IR Manual is updated regularly (at the minimum every quarter) and any changes to policies will be updated in the IR Manual as well. They will even inform you which paragraph, in which chapter changes have been made. They put the IR Manual on the intranet so you can always download the PDF version and read it at your leisure Think PETRONAS HR will do that ??? .... |

Hi guys, right now filling up the forms before reporting for duty, my hand getting tired already.
A few questions, the witnesses in the Service Agreement and GTLA forms we can find anyone right? Or do we have to leave it empty for PETRONAS staffs? Now need to find the ink to put my thumb print on the GTLA form. |

QUOTE(mannquin @ May 9 2013, 01:40 PM) Anyone. I simply put my mom's details in that section. Regarding the fingerprint ink pad, just pay a visit to any post office nearby they should have it. I did mine at KWSP after getting my EPF registration done Thanks for your reply bro. I asked around my Petronas friends, they said to leave the witnesses empty, HR staff will fill it for us. But I guess no harm if you wanna put your own witnesses. ZYesterday I went to LHDN for the stamping, 4 minutes before it closed. Didn;t know they close at 3.45 PM so please take note guys.I bought the fingerprint pad from a bookstore though. |
