what's the general rule of thumb on pre-ordering? I'm planning on getting xenoblade 3 but apparently they don't even know what region of the game their stock will be which seems kinda risky. my account is US so ideally I'd want the copy of the game to be US as well but the shopee listing says ENG/CHI.
of course there's also the question of how diligent these stores are at shipping them out on release day, especially right before the weekends.

yeah I kind of have ptsd from having to jump back and forth between accounts for regions with PSN, and having to move each one from PS3 to PS4 and then some games getting an expanded edition of old games but sellers in Malaysia only had R3 while the old version on PS3 was R2 and DLCs and save files were incompatible I had to hunt down an R2 copy and everything was a nightmare, so I'd really like to have everything in just one account and one region to avoid having a rerun of that episode.

looking at the shop catalogue, the Switch games are mostly US version as you've said but there are some EU and AU versions here and there... but I bit the bullet and pre-ordered anyway lol. thanks for the input, hope you have fun with the game!
