Hi, Im gonna buy a Switch in a few days. Anyone can explain to me which is better to buy, US set, Asia set or Japan set? Any differences?

Is the eshop registration based on region bought similar to PS4? Example US set can only register US account. Or can buy a US set but can register MY account (if any).

Are the games region locked?

This is my 1st Nintendo system since gameboy in the early 90s. Been playing all generations of Sony PS since school.

Set is just about the warranty.

I have my/sg set and I can setup eshop regions just fine. 3 account for US, EU and Jap eshops.

Games are not region lock.  I can play EU game(mario rabid kingdom) just fine on my switch. Just for the expansion I have to redeem it on EU eshop. Then the expansion is playable on all region account.

Thank you sir. So more or less like a PS4. If I happen to buy a US region game, I will need a US account to download the DLC.

I kinda excited right now. Love my PS4 Pro. But gonna be traveling alot, so I wanna a handheld. Dont enjoy mobile gaming much.

It's great as a handheld and greater if you love the games. Addicted to botw, thr things you can do in the game is amazing. Just note that the battery life during handheld is around 3 hours, might be less if you play games like botw.

So you might want to get a powerbank.
*
10k MAH Pineng good enough? Or is it need a specialize PB?

Is it advisable to get BOTW new or 2nd will suffice? As the place I wanna buy the switch gives a game free. I was thinking Splatoom 2 or SSBU. But everyone is hyping me to get BOTW.

Should I invest in a bigger SD 1st or this can wait as the internal memory is enough?

Please dont buy cheap PB for your switch. It will not be able to charge and play at the same time or worse, nuke your switch.

I use this Anker A1275 which is compliant to PD (Power Delivery) standard, needed for your Switch. It is basically the same model used by official Nintendo PB. But Nintendo's model is more expensive (and it is only 10,000 Mah, i think). Havent see the equivalent 20100Mah for Nintendo's Official PB here.

Anyway, this is one item you dont want to skimp on price.
*
Ok I get it. I will check the Anker PB out. I went on youtube, some reviewers said that, I will need a PB that can keep up with the switch charging voltage, or something to that extent.

Can anyone suggest a good budgeted gaming monitor, for my docked switch and PS4 Pro. Currently using a Sony Bravia. I heard a monitor is better for gaming.

Honestly, i think TVs looks way better than monitors, unless it's premium monitors. Unless you want a smaller screen to play on a desk, i think it's not neccessary to get a monitor. And i think budget monitor will definitely look worse.
*
I see. I will be moving to a new home soon, and will be having a designated game room. Was thining of hooking up a gaming monitor. But the prices..oh man.. I'll stick with my Bravia for the time being la. Its just taking up space now coz its not hung up on my wall..just standing on my table

Your Bravia how big?

Why not just get a cheap 40" 4K HDR TV? I think around RM1.2 to RM 1.5k can get.

I saw some gaming monitors (not cheap one) running some games in shops running PS4 games......frankly, my TV still looks better. Unless you need like 144Hz playing on high end PC  i think no point. PS4 max also 60fps.

Err..gaming monitor how much btw, i have never bothered to ask...lol.
*
40" (I think) but not 4K. It was a wedding gift 6 years ago. I currently hook up both my switch and PS4 Pro there, along with my Raspberry Pi. I wish I can afford a 4K tv soon, never tried my PS in 4k.

Looking around online and doing research, its in between RM800 to 1.2K.

*Edit : I know remember why I was thinking of buying a gaming monitor. Its coz currently I sit about almost a meter away from my TV. My current gaming room/store is small and I dont want to use the tv in the living room.

Putting aside my gaming monitor aspirations for now. Better focus on games and accessories.

If still considering just buying a new tv next time, look into low input lag TVs. They are good for gaming but doesn't go above 60hz mostly.

Noted on this. I need to research more. My last 2 TVs I bought was based on price and gambar cantik..beli impulses. No reseaech at all.

I read it all. Word by word. LOL. I just got my Switch less than a week ago. I have been a Sony exclusive guy, owning all gens since original Playstation.

But I gotta say, I love it and quite enjoying the experience. My wife loves it coz Im not caved up in my room. Im outside just enjoying my game while she is watching TV or what not. However, I just started playing SSBU and no other games yet so I cant really give a better review and I do find the controls a bit awkward but thats due to I have been playing Sony controllers since 97. A positive note, my wife was shocked that I was actually playing a console game, mainly due to Im not shouting vulgar language at my screen. Lol. I mean SSBU is a fun time wasting game.

I also tried to get my wife to join me in SSBU, she looked at the game, then to me, then laughed and continued her TV drama. Guess she aint a gamer. Hahaha. But my kids doesnt like it much, as per my eldest girl, the pictures doesnt look nice and she is constanly asking why I dont play ugly dinosaur on my big TV (PS4 Monster Hunter World). Kids comparing SSBU to Monster Hunter World. Hahaha.

I look it out, and seems like it is a game I hv to first try it out to get the most out of the console. Thanks for sharing. Definitely one to play with guests in the house !
Haha thanks for reading my essay 📖! Wasn’t aware of how long I have written until I am done writing. Is too easy to just type away with keyboard . Lol .

Look like kids nowadays get mature really fast! 😆 no longer same as our old generation when we r kids , playing mario and other kiddy games

This is my 1st Nintendo console to honest. When I was a kid, my dad bought us a Sega Megadrive. Thats when the love affair began. I dont think graphics really affects me much. Even after playing a few rounds on my PS4, I will still play emulators on my Rasp Pi. The early 90s had some excellent shoot em ups. Still love those retro.

But yeah, kids mature fast. Hell, my daughters wont watch classic Mickey Mouse shows, only those 3D cell shaded cartoons.

But i think it's really hard to find comprehensive test on input lags for TV reviews. Recently bought new TV, so far so good, just set to game mode, that's all. As long as turn off motion processing, i think it should be fine (my TV don't have motion processing, so no issue...lol).

I'll wait to buy a new TV when we move to our new house next year. In the mean time, im gonna stock up on games and accessories.

I have  introduced my 10 years old back then to the Wii U, he loves Super Mario 3D world and we completed it together. Today he prefers the Switch over the PS4. Play weird games like Delta Rune...lol.

Anyway, i recommend you to get this PDP Smashbros Controller for SSBU, it really makes a difference. I have 2 of those. You can also get a Mayflash adapter, this will allows you to hook up to almost any controllers...from PS4 to XBox360 to Wii U etc. So you can use back some of your other controllers, including wired USB type. The PS4 controller is 100% compatible and even supports gyro.
*
PDP eh? I heard about this. Will check it out. But gotta say.. that Mayflash sounds extremely tempting.

Btw, whats this family plan I saw in the post earlier? Like PSN is it? I know that if I want to online, need to buy the top up card. Am I wrong?
