I've tried this update on a clean 10.4 installation on an iBook G4, it restarted, waited quite a few minutes at the grey Apple loading/spinning wheel screen.. then it just rebooted itself..
2nd round it took some time to boot up.. I suppose this was expected?

Well, aside from the post-installation issues, it seems to run fine.. didn't notice anything wrong at the moment though..

http://switchtoamac.com/site/1049-the-long...e-165-days.htmlCODE Is 10.4.9 the last release of Tiger? Those of us who previously used or currently use Panther (10.3) are quick to point out that Panther updates ended at version 10.3.9. So it begs the question, will Tiger experience a similar fate? Does 10.4.9 mark the last and final update to Tiger? Perhaps. Anyone who follows patterns or trends will argue that a single data point or event does not mark a trend.
Looking back at previous Mac OS X releases we see that Jaguar ended at 10.2.8 (note that 10.2.7 wasn't released and the first 10.2.8 was pulled due to bugs). Puma ended at 10.1.5.
Apple has been working on and hyping the next release of Mac OS X, version 10.5 Leopard. Apple has announced that Leopard will be released during Spring 2007 which could mean that it's weeks or months away. We'll post our prediction for the Leopard release date in a post tomorrow. With each release, software writers seems to bump their OS X requirements to another level.. makes it harder to find a suitable software for use with my G4..
