QUOTE(azhar75 @ Sep 5 2017, 11:16 AM) Voucher is for all "selected" product. You can use the same voucher for Xiaomi, Huawei, etc. I think if using PC can't get the voucher. Only for Phone application can qualify? No need to wait for email invitation. Just key-in the code during check out... Windows 7 ------------ I proceed to checkout------> Continue-------->(I don't enter Card details yet. just want try see if qualify for Voucher)--------->Have Voucher? (Apply Here) -----------> (So I key in the voucher code - MDK10A) ------>(Message came out "Sorry, this voucher may only be used on the Lazada App") |

Hi, I have just bought myself a new Lenovo P2 from online. Firstly I would like to thank Azhar for this great and super helpful thread and the help he has given me in answering my questions.
I have updated the fw and have gone to Lenovo support website. However can anyone tell me why when I checked for warranty I am only getting 274 days of warranty? Thanks. This post has been edited by Ngto: Sep 6 2017, 05:50 AM |

QUOTE(azhar75 @ Sep 6 2017, 07:12 AM) Launch the "Lenovo Companion" app in P2. Under "Warranty" menu we can check the correct warranty status... That's where I got my info from. Warranty remaining 274 days. Ends 7 June 2018 although I just received and switched on yesterday. This post has been edited by Ngto: Sep 6 2017, 07:55 AM |

Can anyone help me test the Diagnostics for the camera flash? Mine when I press the icon nothing happens. When I press and hold sometimes the light comes on, or sometimes it flashes and goes off, or sometimes nothing happens. Is my camera flash defective?

QUOTE(azhar75 @ Sep 6 2017, 10:28 AM) Then, it's valid for you to return the unit and demand full refund... my unit has 1 year and 3 months warranty instead of 1 year... most of us here has more than 1 year warranty out of the box... But I already opened the accessories and updated the firmware. Will I be able to return? |

QUOTE(azhar75 @ Sep 6 2017, 11:35 AM) Yes. Still valid because the Lazada website clearly stated 1 year local manufacturer warranty. You may call Lazada to verify. I called Lazada at their support number but somehow was answered by support staff (lady) in the Philippines. Said they could answer my question. Anyway they don't seem to be aware that can check warranty at Lenovo website. When I told them the situation the gave standard reply, warranty 1 year from Invoice (already expected the standard answer).I have returned and refunded more than 10 phones from Lazada before... Return process is easy and FOC.... Anyway back to Malaysia, the Invoice came from a seller in Damansara (but the Item I bought from Lazada was from a different Online Name-Gadget Supply). I called the Invoice Co. Number and the staff there also not aware can check warranty at Lenovo website. After I 'enlightened' him, he gave the same standard answer- Use Invoice date for warranty purposes. But I am thinking, if anything goes wrong with the phone between the 9-12 mth, and Lenovo Service Center follow their own warranty date, I am sure neither the Seller or Lazada will accept responsibility, lol. |

QUOTE(azhar75 @ Sep 6 2017, 03:56 PM) My kind advise is to call Lenovo Support Centre directly on your situation (follow-up by official email to them): Actually I was thinking of going to Lenovo SC in lowyat and ask the staff there. They are the ones who directly accept items for warranty so they should know first hand.1800-81-7032 (Malaysia number only) 9 am - 6 pm Monday - Friday (Local time) Email : smartphonecc@lenovo.com |

I have a question here for anyone who has encountered this strange situation before.
Today I was removing the back protector while the phone was in standby. I don't know if it was the pressure or I accidentally pressed some wrong buttons, but all of a sudden the phone reset into some sort of blank screen (something like DOS ) with some tiny diff coloured text (something like some program code). I think I saw the words 'Flash mode' or something similar. Anyway there was only one coloured circle with the words 'Start'. This was the only option that could be pressed. So selected it and prayed very hard. It booted back to the main screen, and I thought everything was well. But then I suddenly noticed that the date was showing January 1 1970. I had to press month by month year by year from Jan 1970 to Sept 2017 to set back to current date. Altogether I pressed about 560+ times - (47(years) x 12 months ) just to set back the correct date. So does anyone knows what is this 'Flash mode'? This post has been edited by Ngto: Sep 6 2017, 09:31 PM |

I also found something interesting for those who encountered high battery drain by the Google play services after updating to nougat.
After I updated and reset factory mode, I also noticed the battery was depleting quite fast although I was just mostly exploring the features. The culprit was Google Play Services which used 20-30â„… of power. It was related to it preventing CPU Sleep continuously or something like that. After my scary 'Flash mode' episode above, I did another Factory reset and now Google Play Services only uses very little power consumption, 0.6 â„…. Keep my fingers crossed it doesn't trigger again later on. This post has been edited by Ngto: Sep 7 2017, 05:10 AM |

Azhar, what sort of Car GPS holder are you using for P2 that doesn't interfere with the power button?

QUOTE(RM50infrontofme @ Sep 7 2017, 11:45 PM) Guys I wanna buy a P2 but looking for the best price.... I found this on Lazada..... Didn't you see the latest remark/question that I ask at that particular Sale?http://www.lazada.com.my/lenovo-p2-55-supe...y-18126406.html Is this seller legit? Because if add RM 50 discount then become under 1000 liao AKA within budget range 😂😂😂 One more question.... What are the other alternatives to this phone? Considering RN4 Alternative is Mi Max 2. It has 6.4 inch screen/ 64gb storage/ 5300mAh battery/ July'17 model with Nougat/better camera. All-IT Lowyat selling for rm 1,150 + free screen protector if you ask for good price. Before I bought P2, I wanted to get this, but then decided it was too difficult to carry around because of the size. |
