Can get at any Mr. D.I.Y shop (below are at e-Curve Mutiara Damanara branch):
I bought this one, same time as the phone :-

https://www.lazada.com.my/car-phone-holder-...ails.0.0.AgQrLe

But the holder uses some sort of high tension spring grip, that I was afraid it might just crack the already fragile screen although it is held at the side. Also the placement of the grips will reset the Phone Power button.

I also bought the Ismartec Tempered Screen Protector but the Dents at the bottom 2 sides look so big and ugly that I discared it after 1 day.

I then tried the Protector that came with the phone, but somehow no matter how I applied it , a lot of air bubbles formed. I gave up after an hour and threw it away.

I am using the phone bare now.

Actually the max width is only enough to hold the phone at the sides.

Also anyone knows how can I get Whatsapp to appear as an option in Contacts (Home) so that I can choose to make call from Telco or Whatsapp.

There's no option to only select Whatsapp call or telco call separately. We can only place the whole contact info on homescreen as shortcut. To do this, hit the three-dot menu on each contact and select "Place on Home screen" .
*
Actually I didn't explain properly. But I already solved it. As this is the first few times I am using a smartphone although already Old uncle (don't laugh laugh.gif ) I hope I can be forgiven for being a dummy biggrin.gif

What I initially meant was I wanted to click on Contacts in the Home Screen, and then when I click on a particular contact, it should list a selective Option for calling either the Telco line or using Whatsapp App.

Previously when I chose to display all the contacts, every number were repeated individually many times for each source (Telco, Whatsapp, etc). I had to distinguish which particular one was Telco call which one for Whatsapp etc.

Now I managed to merge all the duplicated numbers from diff sources into just one particular number , and then when I click on that number , the option is within the next screen to call using either the Telco Line or Whatsapp.

Hope you still understand what I am babbling about biggrin.gif

I wonder why the P2 have the security fingerprint, pattern etc. when it is so easy to disable it. Just reset the phone to factory by key press combo.

If someone steals the phone , he just google how to reset the factory defaults.

Forgotten screen lock.
-------------------------
If you've forgotten your screen unlock pattern, you'll have five attempts to try and unlock your phone. If this fails, you can unlock your phone using one of the steps below:

You can unlock your phone using Android Device Manager if you were signed into your phone with a Google account.

If you're unable to unlock your phone with Android Device Manager, you'll need to reset your phone. The reset will clear all the data stored on your phone, but data that’s stored on your SIM is safe.

To reset your phone:

1 Hold down the Power button to turn your device on
2 Press and hold the Volume Up and Power key until you see a menu
3 Go to Recovery by using Volume Down to navigate and Volume Up to confirm
4 Select Wipe data/factory reset and press the Power key to confirm
5 Select Yes and use the power button to accept
6 Select Reboot system now.

Your phone will now have been restored to factory settings.

FYI...

Source  : What is FRP?
*
Ah, learned another new thing which is already common knowledge for most people blush.gif

Btw, Is the P2 already auto FRP enabled by default or is it only activated by setting the Security options in the settings?

When I previously reset to factory defaults I can't recall whether it asked me to key in the Google password or not.

Another question, with dual SIMs inserted, will SMS for the secondary SIM be received. Or do I need to set it as Primary before the SMS will be received?

FRP will be activated the moment we key in Google account during first initial setup. No need to do anything else in the Settings. You may want to enable the "Find My Phone" option in the Settings though (for extra assurance).

P2 is Dual-SIM Dual-Active phone. Even if we are engaged in call on SIM 1, SIM 2 will still receive SMS and incoming call(s) too.

Thanks for the clarification and suggestion.

I found this Specs for the P2 googling :-

Single SIM (Nano-SIM) or Hybrid Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by)

What does it mean Dual stand-by?

I think I have to return my set. It's probably a refurbished set. I still couldn't fix the high battery drain issue.

So as an experiment , after charging to 100%, I immediately put it in Ultimate Power Save Mode and noted the 'No. of hours Left' info displayed on the phone. It showed 122Hrs ++min.

After 5 hours I checked the screen again, it showed 113Hr ++Min left.

By right it should show approx 117Hr ++Min (122-5).

In just 5 Hrs , I already lost an additional 4 hours of Battery time (Total 9 Hrs Battery time lost)

At this rate if I keep the Phone in Ultimate Save all the time , it will last me less than 3 days.

This must be record for lowest battery life for a 5,100mAh phone, lol. Can compete with a 2,000 mAh phone biggrin.gif

update

I checked Lazada's rule for returns, it states I have to inform them within 48 hrs of intention to return. And also this item only has 7 days return policy. Looks I like I am stuck with the product.

Azhar, is there a mute function on this phone (other than turning down the Vol to min) ? I just want just the vibration on for certain times.

Pressing and holding down the Vol until Min and then doing the same again to turn back on is a bit of a hassle. I saw other Android phone have a mute function, wonder if there is something I missed on this phone.

You can call Lazada to state your intention to return due "DEFECT". It's still valid to return within 7-day policy.

I am afraid it's already just passed the 7 days period. I shouldn't have dilly dallied around for so long undecided.

I suspect the old P2 batch and the current ones that I bought are not using the same capacity battery. Reading this review in Jan 2017 it says they charged the Battery from zero to 100 % in just 1 1/2 hr.

https://www.gizbot.com/mobile/reviews/lenov...ior-037425.html

I charged my set from around 40 % to 100% already take the same time 1 1/2 hr. (fast charging 'double lightning' icon).

The latest firmware S244 has fixed the charging rate back to normal. It is supposed to be able to charge from 10% to 100% in 2 hours (±15 minutes).

For your case, it is normal. This is because, the last 10% (ie. 90 to 100%), it will take roughly 30 minutes....

Was the old fw showing the charging time wrongly then?

Only in firmware S233. The charging rate added 15 minutes more.
*
Then when they did the test in Jan (in the review) it would have been accurate because that's the fw prior to s233?

If they can charge 0 (+10) to 100 ( incl the final 5 percent) in 1.5 hrs, mine can only charge 40-100 percent in 1.5 hrs , then mine appears to be abnormal, don't you think?

Anyway too late now 🙂

There is no such thing as from 1% to 100% in 1.5 hours. All of the 1st batch models only "fast" charge from 1% to full in 2 hours (plus-minus 5 minutes).

p/s : Both YouTube vix above are uploaded in January....

No physical evidence showing 1.5 hours...

I appreciate you posting a different source to dispute the article I posted earlier. The reviewer must be lying then. Either that or he was provided with a diff unit than what was sold over here.

You can read towards the end of the review

https://www.gizbot.com/mobile/reviews/lenov...ior-037425.html

Lenovo is also betting big on the charging tech in the Lenovo P2 as well. We were amazed to see how quickly the battery in the P2 charges from zero to 100 percent. It just took over one and half hour to completely charge from zero percent. Also, the company is competing with the OnePlus's Dash Charge technology with the Lenovo P2.

Azhar, it this another Fake Review ?

http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/lenovo/1405...ery-life-period

Really? ohmy.gif 28Hrs+ on continuous Video ?? Is this even possible?

I can't even get 1/2 of that battery time just mostly browsing Lowyat forums and reading some online reviews and articles with a few youtubes here and there.

By It's possible, do you mean it's possible to go 28Hrs+ continuous Video without charging?
