Yes. Enable the API2.

As for SIM contact, let's just say no one is using SIM contact anymore due to its limitations. So, it's time for us to migrate all SIM contacts to Google Contacts.

P2's OTAs chronicles:

S033_160919_ROW = Released from factory.
S048_161111_ROW = 1st OTA released on 9th December 2016.
S062_170117_ROW = 2nd OTA released on 24th January 2017.
S232_170320_ROW = 3rd OTA released on 28th March 2017 (Major Nougat Upgrade). But was withdrawn on 1st April 2017.
S233_170404_ROW = 4th OTA released on 11th April 2017 (Supersede previous 3rd OTA).
S244_170725_ROW = 5th OTA released on 10th August 2017 (125MB incremental update).
S251_171107_ROW = 6th OTA released on 15th Nov 2017 (95MB incremental update).

The final S251 is good but we need to update the Contacts syncing issue (if we have contacts in GMail account...)

Is the P2 your daily driver? If not, then it most probably will last beyond 2 years. What's your regular day-to-day use case for it?

It was my daily driver whereby both my personal & business SIM cards are in it... but since 4 months ago, one of the SIM went to Mate 10 Pro...

Still carry both phones where P2 for personal (Gaming, GPS, powerbank to M10P and all other heavy tasks) and M10P for business (strictly for pix & vix)...

As for Sammy-Pay, the Sammy Gear S3 is paired to M10P constantly now... can collect points for redemption...


Besides P2 & M10P, in my backpack also has Poco F1 and Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom as backup just in case either P2 and / or M10P dies naturally.

Back to stock ROM and manually flashed S252 (78MB) update. I guess this "missing" OTA is to rectify the Google contacts syncing issue which happens in S251 earlier...

Errrrr... Lenovo P2... aka P2a42...

Already 2 years old and still kicking with stock ROM plus Google Camera "upgrade"...

Got one on Lazada. Seller claims it is brand new and warranty is 1 year. What is the best ROM for it? Stock? I now have Redmi 3s with DotOS rom and I love it, what is the best one for P2?

I only tested AOSP Extended... it's on Oreo.. Not Pie... it's stable enough but Rocket Charge is not working... full charge from 5% in 3 hours...

So, I flashed back to stock with 252 patch... and then, install GCam 5.1.014.17 with happy ending...

Limited units I guess...
