looking for a redmi 4a malaysia set.

Found this in lazada: http://www.lazada.com.my/xiaomi-redmi-4a-5...0000.0.0.he6RIU

good buy? anyone got discount code?

I don't mind getting second hand but all the sellers in forum and carousell selling more expensive than this for their used phone. Don't know why malaysian sellers think their used phone so great.

Hi

I plan to buy this phone, anyone can comment about the camera? good?

Battery is awesome I heard.

camera is the only bad thing about redmi phones. That's the only reason NOT to buy this phone. So if camera is important to you..look for another brand.

Still can't justify the jacked up price.

malaysian sell phones at really high price. The strange thing is, there are those dumb people that will buy. People who knows about phones will never buy at that kind of price.

I have been looking around for a phone for some time now and I really can't take it anymore. Getting a new phone instead. They can sell at whatever high price they want. I am not buying at that kind of ridiculous price. They can keep the phone for another 6 month and the price will drop another 10-20%.

But other thing lag. Lol

That's what I have been trying to say about MTK and SD chips but someone else keep comparing with benchmark results..MTK is 90k and SD is 70k or something.

I keep saying a phone is not only about benchmark results. You need to look at battery consumption, general usage and so on. Even lots of reviewers say SD generally feels better eventhough the benchmark is lower. I guess some people just use their phones for running benchmarks. whistling.gif

Good day guys. Need advised from all user of RN4 here.

I'm planning to find a replacement for my Redmi Note 3 Pro as the screen is crack.
Currently I have 3 option in hands.

1. Replace the screen of my Redmi Note 3 (Cost RM170)
2. Jump ship to RN4
3. Jump ship to Mi Max

Which is the better option?
*
if you like RN3 and want to save money then option 1.

if you are looking for an excuse to change to new phone and don't mind paying more then I suggest you got for RN4 (SD625) if you want to maintain screen size.

if you don't mind larger screen then get mi max 2.

Both phones are using SD625. This SoC is a bit slower than SD650 in RN3 but the performance is not really that bad. Some people says it actually feels smoother in the SD625. Maybe due to better optimization from miui. The number one thing great about SD625 is the battery optimization. Currently the best in it's class. Mi Max 2 can last for 10h screen on time. It can take you 23 hours to drain the battery watching video non-stop.

Personally though I would go for option 1. Cause RN5 is going to launch soon.

I see so u mean by looking at the batch number on the box, rite?.
OK if I'm targeting to hv the sony sensor, so what is the old batch number for the sony sensor?
Thx for the info.

don't bother even if you can find one with sony sensor. The implementation is still bad from xiaomi. Yeah quality might be better but it is not a phone to get for it's camera.

If you are hunting for sony sensor on this phone means you need your camera quality to be good. In that case just forget about redmi or even xiaomi phones. Their camera quality is never good. Best camera so far is mi5 which also uses sony sensor but that phone is lousy. Build quality like super bad.

Agree. Was using MiMax 4GB/128GB version. Love the storage & battery life. No need put SD card, while weekend, I can use company Celcom sim card to utilise the Weekend Data. rclxm9.gif

I got this RN4 4GB/64GB as replacement because of it's size. It does size well & the battery life is on par if not better then my MiMax.

While gaming, I am not hard core. Just some minor like Mobile Legend, Clash Royal & Candy Crush, it does serve me well enough throughout the day.

yeah i agree that SD625 is a very well produced SoC that is very balanced in terms of performance, battery and price.

Not too shabby for gaming, won't heat up easily and battery life is superb. All at a reasonable price. It is really hard to beat this..let's see what SD630 or SD660 can do to beat this.

Also, this is the reason by xiaomi is using SD625 so much in their mid range phones....rn4, mi max2, redmi 4. For a typical user, they don't care about benchmark. Real life usage is most important.
