Just now my new Redmi 4a Google Play Store/Service cannot download new Apps.
I was so panic, then I go reset my phone to factory defaults.
How to check if Google Play Store/Service is problematic or root of problem?

Btw, does the video recording have some kind of stabilization build-in on the rom?

I'm currently trying Lineage OS only to test the modded google camera with HDR+ function and EIS on video recording. Both seems to work well but with some bugs and force close.

mine work using aosp rom.hdr+ rly make a difference.
other ppl manage to make it work in miui 9.camera2 api need to be enable.need root though

Not perfect, but the video is much better than miui camera without any kind of stabilization.

anyone with redmi note 4 4g / 64gb rom snapdragon using lineage os or any custom rom? hows the performance? stable enough to be daily driver? batt life?

is 3g / 32gb also called mido? thinking of helping my sister to flash lineage (the official one from lineage website), but since there's so many version (seriously, just look at directd website), i dont want to make any mistake.

I personally use aosp extended in my 4/64.

performance wise, way faster than miui in opening and closing apps.
fingerprint to turn on feels faster to me, although I disable mine completely.
the same goes for double tap to wake.

camera wise, I honestly don't know because I never use my camera and only have stock installed

as for speaker, I don't know how it compares with miui because I also installed viper4arise on it, so if it's softer I can always just raise it with v4a. and its sound quality is also better with v4a

note though, it will take quite some time for the entire flashing process, unlocking the bootloader requires 3 days before you can use it if my memory serves me right. though when you succeed, the rewards outweigh the effort by a mile, imo.

I give up on Xiaomi phones.I tried and installed many GPS FIX apps but still not happening. 

Anyone with good phones to recommend with quick GPS lock in even in the house?

I waited for Redmi Note 4 64gb rom + 4gb ram variant for months until I realised Redmi Note 4 32gb rom + 3gb ram has GPS lock in problem. I bought two sets for my family! I installed multi GPS lock in apps and still the same. I decided to give up on Xiaomi due to the GPS mentioned problem because I need GPS for my job. 

I see you flash here n there but finally you got it right? 

New RN4 64GB ori MY unit user here reporting in, let the phone OTA to latest miui8.5 and did a full reset before start migrating my data from the old phone. after setup the phone and etc, 1st thing i try is to run out of the home and try out waze with gps, gps lock in swiftly in less than 30secs. glad my unit is nto a lemon one. great phone none the less as my main workhorse while using MiMax as my 2nd phone.

Just to update, on my RN4, MIUI 8.5.4, GPS no locking issue
Just now tried for half hour with Waze, GPS lock fast and no drop connection

Only going to get a sim for it by October so just seat around for now
So far, wifi only, no sim can last 8 9 hours SOT with no issue
Is that a good battery consumption or should I expect better?
Overall, pleased with the purchase but wish more manufacturer will make smaller phone, 5.5" quite hard to use one handed
