Ordered n received RN4 from Sengheng/Lazada. When I brought it to Ninjaz to fix a sp I was told that it is RN4X.
How can I authenticate this? It is with label EIN & box written as RN4, SD625... This post has been edited by MGM: Dec 19 2017, 03:56 PM |

QUOTE(ckweng @ Dec 19 2017, 04:30 PM) If your unit got EIN label and the above descriptions, then confirmed it's Malaysia set. When it comes to accessories like tempered glass and case sourced from China, you will need to look for RN4X to be compatible. It was listed at Lazada as RN4, invoiced as RN4, printed in box as RN4.When i bought accessories for RN4 Malaysia set on Aliexpress, I had chosen RN4X type and all were good. Wonder whether I should return it even though I bought it cheap at rm590 (after discount n creditcard cashback) cos I read that RN4 is better, what do u think? https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note...erence-t3572385 |

QUOTE(ckweng @ Dec 19 2017, 05:12 PM) Your unit with EIN label is indeed RN4 and hence no need to worry or return! Thanks for the assurance, will now go thru this thread to know more about my new toy, previously using RN3. I actually bought and paste the RM1 sp from Ninjaz temporary but dare not buy the RM10 casing just in case I want to return the RN4 to Lazada.Just that the RN4 version meant for global market is known as RN4X in China and that's why we need to look for the RN4X variant for accessories like tempered glass and case to fit, because the camera holes and sensors are placed differently. When Ninjaz said yours is RN4X, i think they meant "I need to look for RN4X accessories from China" to fit your phone. |

QUOTE(wokies @ Dec 26 2017, 01:15 PM) Wow, screen so easily crack? I am using a RM1 sp on my new RN4, should have invested on a RM15 tempered glass. Previously was using a RM20 tempered glass for my RN3 but the TP chipped and cracked after a couple of months so I replaced it with a RM1 sp and it works fine until now. |

QUOTE(UnknownH @ Apr 24 2018, 12:38 AM) The Snapdragon variant. Bought a Malaysian set RedmiNote4 from SenQ@Lazada n brought to Ninja to install SP and casing but was told that it was Note 4X.The naming abit confusing. Different market, different name, different variant. I got myself note 4x for China market so it's the Snapdragon variant. This exact phone launched as Redmi note 4 in Malaysia. So if you care about local warranty, get the MY set. |

QUOTE(MGM @ Jan 23 2019, 09:39 AM) After reading the reviews of the recovery tools most are bad or with limited result.I tested using another phone(RN3) by deleting most photos(after backup) in the Gallery and the use Google Photo app to backup and sync and surprisingly all those I deleted were also backup to the Google cloud. But it works only partially for my RN4. Would probably try using Recuva but too bad Recuva can't detect the RN4 as an external drive but has to be done in this elaborate manner: Here’s the algorithm for Android internal storage recovery: Make a copy of the internal memory partition (as a RAW file), Convert RAW to VHD format, Connect the virtual Hard Drive to the filesystem via Disk Management, Scan virtual hard drive using recovery soft, Restore files from the copy of internal storage. https://howtorecover.me/data-recovery-inter...oid-phone-guide |

Looks like most of the recovery software needs the affected RN4 to be rooted for effective recovery of the deleted photos in the Gallery. Unlocking the RN4 takes how many days and need to request thru Mi account? 2. What is the function of "Mi Unlock Status" in Developer Option? 3. Is Kingroot safe n effective in rooting RN4? According to a youtube video it is simple to use. 4. I manage to list the content of the RN4 using Windows Explorer but when using Recuva it doesnt detect it as a drive but I can transfer the RN4's content to the PC. The RN4 is in USB debugging mode but not rooted yet. |

After trying the different self diagnosis suggested by google, my 18months old RN4 still cannot be charged or boot. Brought to Xiaomi Authorised service center to diagnose and was told problem with mainboard, so not worth repairing n paid rm25 for that. My 3year old RN3 still kicking strong. The xiaomi authorized service center said my phone is gone and data not retrievable. But when I brought to another shop, tested my battery ok but still can't charge and can't switched on, dismantled the battery n powered d phone directly by charger n phone can be switched on and booted, everything still intact felt relieved. At least now allowed me to savage my data. Will backup all data b4 repairing the shorted mainboard, repairing cost btw rm150-rm250. Useless xiaomi service center charged me rm25 for a lousy job. WTA: 1) Is it safe to continue using the shorted phone with direct power while backup the data and reset it to factory setting? 2) Is the repair cost of 150-250 which takes 2 hours too high? 3) Normally would repaired unit last >1 year? 4) Where to sell it as scrap since the screen n battery still working? Any opinion is welcome. This post has been edited by MGM: Mar 30 2019, 09:40 AM |
