yeah... that's why I want to change petrol already. Was using Shell previously which I think also one of the worst - petrol and reward points. Petronas gives me a good feel but their rewards points not too attractive.

IIRC, there is a website comparing all these reward points and Petron one is the best, and its points have no time limit (can keep accumulate) to redeem items. Others need to redeem items before 3 years else the points will gone IIRC

Mesra: 1 litre = 1 point

If pump MYR80 / 32 litres

MYR80 * 8 = 640 points
32 litre * 1 = 32 points

Total points received are 672

use UOB 1 Platinum card on weekend = 5% cash rebate
extra 2% of UOB Smart$ points = 2% redeemable when you request at the counter
BHPetrol eCard = 1 point for RM1. 550 points is worth RM5 of fuel

Petron is currently 1 liter = 2 points (ron95) / 3 points (ron97)

So far using Petronas, since they allow me to use AMEX for that weekend 5% cash back. Also get the Mesra 3X points. Petron don't accept AMEX so I prefer Petronas.

If you pump Ron 97, then Petron earns more per liter
But for the average consumer using Ron 95 no difference bcs you actually pump same amount of petrol and also same duration to get the rm45.

I assume you meant Ron95 (2point/liter at petron). If pump Ron 97 then Petron gives more RM saved/dollar

I'm not referring to RON95 vs 97 and not denying though the fact on immediate redemption, just comparing RM gained/liter actually no difference for 95 and petron actually better for 97

BHP 950points = rm10, 550 points =rm5
Assume to get rm45 from points,
At petron, we need 1500liter x rm2.2 = rm3300
At bhp, we need 3800+550 points = rm4350

you can use amex on petron lol... i use amex all this while in petron, no issue.. i not sure is there rules changed cause i stop near 9 month for petron due to using gift card.
AMEX should able to use over the pump itself not in the counter.

Your calculation petron 45/3350 = 1.34% rebate. but i think now they give base on price?
BHP 45/4350 = 1.03%

Petronas i not sure still got those chart or not i cant find..
Assume no chart then it will be 1point = 1 cent.
RM45 = 4500 point.
4500/3 = 1500 Litre * 2.2 = RM3300.
45/3300 = 1.36%

So petronas and petron very likely the same only 0.02% which every rm100 only different by 2cent.

I tried that 2 months ago. The pump just rejected my card. Decided to just go for Petronas for less hassle.
