Yo guys i have a 18W pump which i just bought but no time to install yet.

It has 1 big 4P and 1 small fan like connector.

I tried to put the small fan connecter to my fan controller. Doesnt work. I put 4P to my power supply the pump just goes full speed. If i connect both, fan controller just shows 4k+ rpm. I dial the knob to turn it down but it still 4k rpm.

Does that mean i really have to put the small fan connector to mobo?

Is it 4-pin connector (molex) have 2-wires & fan like connector only 1 wire?

if that so;
4-pin molex provide full 12V power from PSU, so full speed according to it's spec.
Fan connector-like provide speed reading only.

You have to mod the 4-pin either convert to 7V/5V (fixed speed) or change to 3p/4p fan connector & connect to your fan controller for control the speed.

Should be PWM & speed reader. You can control the speed thru motherboard, provide that your motherboard have the 4-pin fan header.

That fan controller adjust speed using voltage, not PWM.

Yes. Isnt the speed of fan controlled by voltage as well. The controller has a knob to control the voltage. So technically it should work with pump as well?

Well i guess i figured it out. I just have to remove the molex, put the molex cables 12v and ground to pww header and retain the rpm cable on pwm header. That way i can use my controller to controll voltage to my pump.
