As per title, i'm mostly use the monitor for work and gaming balance.

Work: Web Design, PS, Ai, Video Editing, coding, browsing.
Game: CoD, Pro Evo Soccer, Forza Motorsport 6: Apex, etc.

Need you guys advise on which one is fit the bill and value for money smile.gif

Thanks! notworthy.gif

Price is based on Dell Malaysia site, i believe Lazada/11street can get better price.

OPTION #1 - U2417H: RM 1029
Love the design, InfinityEdge thin bezel.

OPTION #2 - S2418H: RM 979
Newer series, newer tech? how about HRD vs Ultrasharp? hmm.gif

OPTION #3 - U2917W (Ultrawide): RM 1599
Any existing Ultrawide user here? Any comment? Never try Ultrawide before hmm.gif .

i am using u2417h, ok la.
18h, perhaps 2018 generation. probably better than 2017 generation.

u2917w, wide. not 16x9 1920x1080. WQHD 2560 x 1080
so, much better view if playing games and lots of workspace for editing. good for editorial. for gaming, u can set 1080p but the both side will get black (image in middle) and also for the movie.
*for gaming u can use WQHD 2560 x 1080 but will eat your performance. playing 1st person shooter allowed u to see wide FOV (left right), in mmorpg 3rd person u will see distortion (like widelens, or multiple screen gameplay).

got money, take the WQHD 2560 x 1080

After research

If i were u, i would go for s2715h rm1099 or s2718h rm1299

Price differencee not that much but the 27inch screen makes a big difference..try gaming on a 27 inch and ull see what im talking about smile.gif

If u still insist on 24 inch then go for s2418h since never technology and cheaper than u2417h smile.gif

I don't like glossy too, but how to see from the specs whether it's matte or glossy? hmm.gif

You can check whether it is matte or glossy under "Panel Type, Surface" in the "Tech Specs" tab.

I have two U2417H, really in love with the thin bezel and the color of the panel, haven't had chance to try out S2418H (or other HDR monitors) yet as they are very new, if I am not mistaken, Dell only started selling them last week (or so) in Malaysia.

Youtube should be a good source to understand all that good stuff matte no matte, etc etc wink.gif

From my past research experience (I'm using U2414H now), U series are matte and S series are Glossy, I might be wrong. Anyway recommend to check out physical stock out before purchase anyway

in UK Dell website it doesn't show that it's anti-glare
but Malaysia Dell website did stated the monitor come with " Anti-glare treatment of the front polarizer (3H)"
cool2.gif You can confirm with with Dell Customer representative = just give them a call or chat with them~

Just talk to the Dell's CS, U2417H and S2418H bothe anti-glare, means non-reflective...

But i guess i will stick to Ultrasharp, because my current 2007WFP served me for so long since 2008 cool2.gif smile.gif

still work well but just start having backlight bleeding, so looking for successor... smile.gif

Personally I would go for the U2417H just because of the stand.
The stand for S2418H only supports tilt adjustment, but I need my height adjustments.
