im a rookie driver and i found this problem very frustrating because i am doing test drive around my neighbourhood and as usual in malaysia, all cars are parked along the road kerbs and i have to dodge cars infront and the sides as well. Today i scratched the paint off inspira and he is one of my neighbour, i told my fren and he asked me to slip it past my mind and dont bother with the small incident. i still go confront the owner and my friend tell me im lurus bendul biggrin.gif, he also asked me to prepare around rm400 to pay to the owner.

in my mind, i was trying to learn to steer properly but in contrast what i learned driving this narrow road is to how to improve my spatial awareness.
steering is not a problem since u were driving slowly anyway dry.gif

think of your car as extension of your limbs, a part of your body, feel it

Usually if you hit or scratched something before while driving your car, you sort of improve your spatial awareness cause you have a better guesstimation of where's the edge of your car.

the more u drive the more u will know how to agak2 the width of ur car.

msia alot sohai alot space on their lane. but yet still can keep into middle knowing the opposite lane got less space.

when no cars infront or back. then u can drive side by side another stationary car. then slow down or stop and see how much space left.

then put it in mind and estimate in the future

You will get it eventually.

I mean you (just you, no car biggrin.gif) can squeeze through tight spots.

So eventually, you will get the feel of it. The car would be like an extension around you.

if you started driving using a small car, you would probably have difficulties driving a bigger car and slow in learning

What car you drive TS?

edit: If you started driving using a bigger car, you will learn very fast, but chances of small small "accidents" and do mistakes is higher
