Hanfu movement (汉服运动 / 漢服運動), or the Hanfu subculture, is a 21st-century movement that developed in China; its advocates want to reintroduce the wearing of hanfu for all Chinese in daily life as a way to stress values and support unity. This term encompasses the historical clothing styles worn by the Han Chinese before the Qing dynasty (1644–1912). While the Han Chinese comprise the largest ethnic group in China, there are 55 other ethnicities with their own traditions.
i think the best ones are the ones back in Jing Yong Era. those clothes swordsman & women wear. Abit like Japanese Samura clothes but neater & nicer.
Hanfu, i think unless you are Leslie Cheung, won't look nice. And these type of clothes really need to match with long hair, for women maybe suitable, for men, really out of place the modern hairstyle with ancient clothes.
For daily practicality 汉HAN 服FU also has four seasons clothing style. People staying at tropical climate may consider wearing summer style Han-fu. Otherwise those who stays at highlands may wears spring/autumn style. Winter style is usually made from wool fabrics and or mink as outer clothes.

What a bunch of hippie trying to revive a culture that's no longer relevant. People failed to recognise that culture is only relevant when it is part of the society, we have our own culture nowadays, no need to bring back obsolete one that no longer suit the modern day.
lol @ han chauvinist. bring back hanfu just because qipao has manchu influence? vietnamese is proud of their ao dai attire despite being influenced by manchu,
Stupid movement. The founder of this movement claims tha cheongsam is not traditional costume of Chinese, because it's Manchurian in origin.
But the facts are: 1. PRC government has already recognized Manchurian as Chinese. 2. Cheongsam may have its origin in Manchurian costume, but the modern design originated in 1930s Shanghai, well after the demise of Manchurian dynasty.
