Firstly I don't see anything wrong with your fonts.

Secondly I have uploaded the working files for the sidebar so you might wanna check that one out.

Thirdly, Yahoo is known to crash on windowblinds 5.... but it has been fixed on version 5.5


1) Copy your font

2) Control Panel > Fonts

3) Paste your fonts

Guys, due to popular demand, I have uploaded the files required to install the real Vista sidebar namely the VAIOXP and sidebar installer. I hope it will help you guys. i mean the font got white color in the font background, i managed 2 fixed yahoo after Un-installing IE7 but now i get a error saying wininet.dll error etc but i can use yahoo now...and im not using WB 5.5....too laggy...

Want to ask if i dun wan to install Prerequisites for VAIOXP.
:

* Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package
* Microsoft Internet Explorer 7
* Wireless LAN API (KB918997) (VAIOXP users only)
* Windows Media Player 11 (Windows Sidebar users)

Can i straight install VAIOXP? Due to mine window is *ahem* version and cannot update

nope... , you can't, you must have those listed software in order to enjoy Vista Sidebar, otherwise, it won't work... you can always use AutoPatcher.Com for updates...

but it use torrent which is we are the streamyx user who get p2p throttle.

Wonder is it save to use this?? Years back, these customisation seems not stable and I remember1 with the apple slidebar1 turn my system to a 3rd party and many thing happen after that...Any problem u faced??

if don't have problem, i must be lying, but to tell you the truth, the problem solved when we came here, discuss, tell us what's exactly the problem is... AFAIK, i'm on VTP 6.0 (which is known to be as lot of bug - which is i don't ), Vista IconPack v3, Vista RealSideBar (VAIOXP) and so on... and some are giving me headache...

good point... but if you read the FAQ section of my step by step methods, it is entirely safe. I wouldnt recommend VTP unless you have absolutely no idea how to use those advance stuff.

Just to clarify, the Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package is no longer required because the latest version of VAIOXP includes "the merge modules for the Visual C++ redistributable modules". (Refer to posts #13 & #15 on the Vista RTM Sidebar for Windows XP/2k3 website and the January 19th, 2007 post on the VAIOXP website.)

Also, for those of you who are still encountering problems/errors with the installation of the Vista RTM Sidebar, may I strongly suggest that you follow the instructions offered by ricktendo64 in post #11 on the Vista RTM Sidebar for Windows XP/2k3 website:

The install probably fails because I did not include regsvr32.exe in with the sidebar files... This is for 2k3 compatibility, the regsvr32.exe from XP will not work on 2k3 and vice versa

-Install VAIOXP (SideNote: The VAIO Shell Extention will not show up in XP x64 but there is a trick on how to get this to show... But I forgot how, something about loading a seperate explorere.exe thats located in a seperate folder)
- So when installing this manually copy regsvr32.exe from system32 and place it in the same directory as Sidebar.cab and Sidebar.inf
- Right Click on Sidebar.inf and select install (error pops up)
- Browse to Sidebar.cab and hit Select then OK
- Finally copy Sidebar.inf to X:\WINDOWS\inf (make sure to turn on "Show Hidden Files")
- Go to Add/Remove Programs in the Sidebar uninstall section hit the Change button (this will register the sidebar DLL and EXE files)
- Start the sidebar

I can testify that I followed these directions EXACTLY and was able to install the Vista RTM Sidebar (WITHOUT the Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package) without any problems and it is running perfectly!

Speaking of the Vista Icon Pack, I noticed that it does not include the RTM version of the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon on the bottom right system tray. Does anyone know where I could obtain the RTM version of this icon and where it needs to be replaced (ie. which file contains/is linked to the icon)? Thanks!

I had been searching for the vista icon pack v3 for about weeks. Now, I am so glad that J-Slade finally shared it... Using it now... n I must say is greater than icon packager version.

btw im using winblind 5.5 the aeroglass theme wan ....

in Windowblinds, disable the option whether to automatically use the wallpaper included with the skin

My word 'safe is not about ur step...is about the software...years back, I did try this look alike apple interface and it turned my window into 3rd party...I thought no problem but at last problem comes out and there is no cure...I had no choice that time but to format everything...lost my data lor..sigh..

Hohoho... to be honest I think VTP is not safe. Lets just wait till there is version 6.5 then we'll judge.
