I'm on 8mbps right now with 19.2dB SNR Margin and 24.6dB Line Attenuation.

Your attenuation are quite high even with the default speed of 8Mbps. Perhaps the distance between your house and nearest VC street cabinet are far away from each other. Or maybe, VDSL2 signal acts differently than ADSL2+. I'm not sure about that since my street cabinet are still 'powered' by ADSL2+ card. Anyway, what model of router that you're using right now because it able to receive the VDSL2 signal. I wonder whether legacy ADSL2+ router will be able to support that kind of street cabinet configuration hmm.gif

I just made a complaint to the MCMC by asking TM when they want to do the infrastructure upgrade around my area to support the VDSL2 card at the roadside cabinet. Let's see how it goes....
From what I see now, I will stuck at 8Mbps forever...... dry.gif

Attached Image
This the cabinet where I was connected, at the front of my residential area. Max 8Mbps.

Attached Image Attached Image
New cabinet with VC code that supposed to be "Unifi Lite-Able". The distance between my residential area with these two cabinets just around 1-2KM each other.

new cabinet is V tagged.. next to old cabinet R tagged.
tho its awhile already..fingers crossed.

I asked one of the technical person in TM last week.

R & F = Max 4Mbps (ADSL2+)
Vxxxx = Max 8mbps (ADSL2+)
VB and VC = VDSL card inside. Ready for future high speed bandwidth due to VDSL2 card installed inside.

Only if your cabinet are tagged as VB and VC will be ready for Unifi Lite if TM allowed it after technical inspection.

my house only covered for streamyx 8mbps before and no unifi since they keep calling me to upgrade it to 8mbps for rm 160... but i only used 4mbps for more than 3 years than i terminate it..
last week i go to tm point to check if my area is covered or not and they said my house is covered for unifi lite...
and i think i might get rm129 package without std 20 and no phone will be given..
just need to wait when the contractor come install it at my house
*
lucky you. My area also not have fiber unifi coverage and I'm using streamyx 8mbps right now. There's no unifi lite coverage for my area due to old infrastructure (still connected to old cabinet). Do update us when installation has been done at your home soon. icon_rolleyes.gif BTW, if you don't mind, can I ask where you live now?

Usually how many days taken for tm and mcmc to give feedback to complaints made by user? It's been 2 working days but my report status still under investigating. Usually if i make a complaint directly via help@tm email, they will reply me within 24 hours even on public holiday. But mcmc complaints seems taking quite long to solve. Perhaps due to much more bureaucracy within them. sad.gif

Currently I am using Streamyx but will install Unifi Lite in 2 weeks time. Would I be able to use my existing number in place of the phone line that comes with Unifi Lite?

If fiber.. yes. But vdsl not.

Huh? VDSL can't use back existing number?
*
Yes. In fact your current landline PSTN service will be terminated. I've no idea about Unifi lite, but for existing unifi service that are using VDSL on high rise condo/apartmenr, the procedure should be like that because you only got a pair of copper wire to be terminated either on existing Streamyx port or Unifi (VDSL) port. You need to surrender either one.

AjkR06 was saying that If my new Unifi Lite is on fibre then I can use my existing number as the new Unifi number, but u r saying otherwise.

If on fibre... then there's no problem for you to keep the same number.

If keep the old number, then does it will charge the rental fees for the old telephone line? (Since there is no Streamyx already and you already pasang Unifi + new telephone number line)
*
No idea about unifi lite. But standard unifi package they need to pay only rm1.00/month (exclude usage and tax etc) to keep the old number.

But according to T&C Unifi Lite comes with corded phone n without HyppTV STB. And what is the rm80 charge for installer for?

Maybe due to that reason..... (see the bold text)

But 15m of fibre cable + 15m LAN cable + 15m phone cable are provided FOC, n there is a labour charge for wiring thru ceiling (any protection for wiring above ceiling?)
*
It's not fiber cable anyway, it's still copper and it will be treated same like old streamyx where installation/rewiring will be charged. Rewiring minimum charge are RM50. If just install the cable from pole to the house DP, the charge will be RM30 something. You can look at the ping, it's still 45ms. Technically, Unifi Lite in the SUBB area where TM using the existing copper infra can be considered as 'enhanced' streamyx with the new VDSL capable street cabinet that can support up to 10mbps download and upload (but they set the upload just to 5mbps). It's still Streamyx with the new 'name'. FOC installation within certain cable length limit only available for STANDARD FIBER Unifi that available in the HSBB area. Not SUBB. I might be wrong but let's see how this things will goes in the future. But for the time being, I can see that Unifi Lite in the SUBB area will be treated same like Streamyx.

I just got back from tmpoint (but other branch) and asked about unifi lite. As usual, they said it's not officially launched by TM and nothing can be done at their side. rclxub.gif
On the bright side, I was offered RM20 discount to my 8Mbps streamyx without any contract extension. So starting from May, I'll be paying RM140 (RM150 with GST) instead of current price of RM160 (RM170 with GST). Let's see whether the discount will be apply or not on the next bill.

Confirmed. Contract will not be renewed. Oh, yes streamyx in some area are prone to cable thief. Thankfully my area still not facing that problems.

Mine is not upgraded. It's the same packages (8mb) but with RM20 discounts. For upgrade from 4mb to 8mb, the contract will be renewed. sweat.gif

so i just leave... cool2.gif

The tm point that i go (parit buntar) said no need to renew contract. She even double confirm with the manager first. In fact, when i check the service effective date in mytm page, it showed N/A. Usually N/A indicated that your contract has been end.

If this things doesn't have quota :sigh:

I asked one of the agent in fb and suddenly he said that my area got the coverage for vdsl unifi lite. So i register with him and let's see how it goes. But for the time being, i don't put any hope at all. For the price, it's rm149 per month.

This hypptv given is more like hypptv for streamyx user.
No dedicated port for hypptv.
I didn't use hypptv anyway but maybe it will use some bandwidth for your internet...
Since this is like streamyx, i try use speedtest for upload speed and the ping spike but when i stream, for example twitch@facebook live, ping quite ok...

Can you show us your modem stats? Eg: port speed, snr margin, attenuation and perhaps your router picture as well... smile.gif

Thanks for the picture and stats. Btw, nice stats you got thwre. You must be less than 1km from the nearest street cabinet. My snr margin just 26db and attenuation 12db and it was capped at 10mbps only sad.gif I wonder whether my line will be qualified for unifi lite if it will available at my place in the future.
