Your scenario indicates that your umobile number have been recycled and reassigned. It is now probably registered to a new owner and the new owner have activated and verified the number on whatsapp for his use. If the above is true, the only remedy is to contact the new owner to see if he is willing to transfer ownership to you. Apart from that there is no other way for you to regain the same number.
