haha... set auto it will drop to 3G to make call so the speed jadi giler. After making call it will come back to 4G again. Supposed to just call like that i think... in internet there is no single guide on how to do VoLTE call so i assume it is just simple call using telephone.

The router has a RJ11 phone jack to connect to simple house telephone using telephone cable.

Not sure if this topic should be under Telco Talk or networking.

Last week DiGi upgraded service with VoLTE, on handphone it showed the icon.
I have Huawei E5186 router that supports VoLTE, I search in internet but can't find info about setting up VoLTE on router, not even sure if it is automatically setup or what.

Connect normal phone to the RJ11 port the dial tone is engaged dial tone not working.
If set to 3G or Auto then can make call, but it is not VoLTE just normal call, and at LTE when make call it will drop to 3G and come back to LTE after the call, with this the ping and speed is haywire.

Expert please advise  icon_question.gif

No... that it the way it is supposed to work, the router will handle the VoLTE and provide telephone assess to wired and wired-dect handsets. Seems like in this world at the moment only 1 router by Netgear is able to do that, if this Huawei E5186 is proven not supporting VoLTE. I search and can't find any official statement from Huawei saying support VoLTE, only from seller website and noone has actually tested it work.

RM865 through Lelong. I bought 3 of them running 3 Infinite 150 at 3 locations. Earlier I thought of want to save money and bought 3pcs TP-Link MR200 and ended up like sh*t performance and poor wireless connectivity, have to throw aside wasting $$$.

I hate Huawei for extremely little setting options and never have any official firmware update, however they have the best 3g/4g performance. Under same environment, E5186 max speed is 25% higher than MR200 and ping is more stable, MR200 has spikes (even with LAN). For wireless, MR200 from time to time has high ping between device and router itself, tested in place without neighbourhood wireless interference.

VoWIFI is Voice Over WiFi. But now he has a modem which actually should work with VoLTE to make calls. VoWIFI is when you call out to other number using Wi-Fi connection but this is LTE (4G) so it is VoLTE.

From below, I am assuming the telephone need to be HD compatible for VoLTE. But remain unconfirmed it is correct answer to you.

This is useful to me. with the DiGI Infinity plan, i can use this to connect to my office phone PBX system. This can save a few hundreds per month compared to Telekom line.

I have tested 3G with PBX system, but not this model but an older Huawei router.
Basically if 3G with E5186 it will definitely work on PBX. VoLTE yet to try, but E5186 seems not supporting this feature.

Guys, I tried to set my E5186 router to auto or 3G and try with the telephone call connected with RJ11. However there aren't any tones from the phone. Any setting need to be done in order for the phone call working?
