i read through your post here, i understand that the priest you have is abit weak on group healing, maybe he/she not yet learn to fully group healing, but you do have wrong as well because you didnt concerntrate on the screen but instead putting blame on the priest not to heal you when you able to heal yourself and you put yourself as melee class and waiting for heal.

althrough my level for pally is still low but i do went for lowbie instance, i'm a retribution build but it happen everytime they ask me to be healer when my mana lower than a shammie -.-" but no choice cause we are team in group better no fighting cause problem.

did you use "righteous fury" when you fighting mobs? this skill cause 60% treatening but i know a war should taunt mostly but it depend sometime, skill cause problem.

your group had 2 priest, 1 shammie, 1 war and you(pally) actually this team is good on supporting heal most of time, from your post i see the lv70 priest doing nothing << bad bad priest!.
shammie lv59 is low but can be a good support too.

an advice for you, try not to depend on people so much when you were in group, i learned this when im a mages,especially when you can heal yourself.
