the priest u have is a sucky one...no doubt a priest has to keep his party members at all cost no matter who they are, MT are usually the main priority. if the mt and dps are in the red life region, i would heal the MT first, then the dps.

usually i dont have problem with rogues as most rogue i partied with so far knows how to feint and control their dps. My main problem is usually mages, cuz i really hate to waste extra mana to cast a shield on my party members (they really burn extra mana, compared to normal heals/renew). i would try to use renew on MT as much as possible, and flash heal later on when the MT has less than half life. And do bear in mind that I was a shadow priest, so i have significantly less mana compared to disc priests.

and to me, shield is really not a good spell to use, cuz of the mana cost.for the cost of 2 shields u can prolly cast up to 3 flash heals.
