RM250 can get 16" tyre??
*
there's quite a number for 16 tire for around that price.

currently using Kumho Ecsta Supra (712). from some review about more or less equivalent to ES100. last time got offer Ecsta MX for 200 each (yup 16") but too bad i missed it.

review? not as grip from my previous F1 on wet tarmac.

yea from jap....not bad tyre i heard kinda expensive might as well get neova....prefer oni neova...or RE01R if there is...lolz
*
RE01R on 16" 45series " around what price range? it might be an F1 replacement, but i bet the treadwear is not long lasting. i still think F1 is the most best tire to get and worth the money u pay for, treadwear also reasonable

anyone tried falken azenis RT615? How's compared to Neova? Can't make up my mind, the price is quite high RM670 for 16" 215. Very near to R compound tire but with better threadwear 200, what's neova threadwear??
*
i think the threadwear is somewhere 180.

using falken ZE912, the tyres just half a month old, 185/60R14, very quiet compare to my old NCT5  and grip very good in wet and dry, in wet not as good as dry la biggrin.gif

going to 140km/h still gt grip and stick to the ground and steering response still there, unlike the previous NCT5, shake like hell even with balancing and alignment done vmad.gif
*
there might be a problem in your car balancing/alignment. mine done 150km/h stock myvi on NCT3 without any shaking at all. that's NCT 3 which is below than NCT 5

i'm using a brand new tire now (less than 500km)

Dunlop Formula D01 (205/50/16)

Dry performance = hard braking and hard cornering not that good, got sound already compare to my previous 40% thread left Kumho Ecsta Supra.

Wet performance = not yet done, but expect worse since dry already 'out'.

Verdict = Good for average joe family car, high threadwear 420 and cheap (slightly less RM 250)

Personal experience = More or less about the same performance with the Hankook Ventus HRII

It's not a bit noisy.. it's damn noisy, esp after you wear out the outer wall blocks.
*
I'm using the GSD3 F1 Germany made too last time. totally agreed the wet performance is great but super noisy later on. any other tire that has more or less the same charateristics like the F1 but quiet?

D01 is good for normal driving as it's traction is rated A... better than B rated BS MY-01...
GSD3 F1 is noisy... still thinking whether to try or not after this Hankook V12
@cchin8888 if you wanna stick back to 185/55 R15 try Michelin PP2...
*
yup agreed. D01 for normal driving only. imagine, very easy to get 'schreeet' tire sound on shiny cement underground parking lot when doing slow cornering, this not the case for Ecsta Supra AA rated

kumho ku31 195-55-15 is around rm180.wayyyyyyyyyyyy better than formula d01 and cc5.
yes.but the price for above 16 is very expensive.15 inch is still acceptable.
*
I begin to like the formula d01 after replacing with the ziex 522. ziex 522 is a crap tire. easy to lock and always unda unda during hard cornering. the d01 handles better on this. doh.gif doh.gif the ziex 522 also known as the Firenza SMT 03

Wait till you are on the Falken 522 then u'll get a more accurate definition of lousy grip. Those who are looking forward for an ice skating experience in the wet are welcomed to use the Falken 522. brows.gif  Mind u, those are brand new Falken 522 I am talking (less than 1500km). It has me nearly killed twice.  mad.gif

I'm using it now on 4 sets. shitty and crappy tire from my 15 years of driving experience. seriously regret it. easy to lock up during rainy days

Upgrade 1 step from MC5 means go UHP tire category which is a wise decision. What size do you need though?
*
small size 205/50/16

Then you only have these choices:

- Michelin PS4: the best choice available and consequently the most expensive, very well balanced for excellent dry & wet performance.

- Michelin PS3: the older version of PS4, still also pretty good and well balanced performance, especially in aquaplaning resistance (to go thru puddles). Compared to PS4 though it's already behind especially in dry grip but maybe a bit more comfortable coz sidewall slightly softer than PS4.

- Goodyear F1D5: performs very close to the PS3, also well balanced for both dry & wet.

- Bridgestone RE003: more focused towards dry grip with lesser wet performance compared to the above tires. This tire also will wear off the soonest coz tread wear rating is only 220 compared to the others at 300-320.

- Yokohama Advan Fleva V701: specs & tread pattern look good like the F1D5 but so far still unconvincing as there are many mixed reviews of this tire, some say ok but some not so good, even got some report of sidewall issue/bursting. In tests in Europe, it failed miserably!  laugh.gif  That's why I put this one as the last in the list.

thanks, I have tried before F1GSD3 (germany made) it was quite ok on wet tarmac. but the tire is a bit noisy

anything from conti? MC6? before MC5, tried also CPC2 and CPC2E. I think CPC2 perform better than MC5
