QUOTE(prozac @ Apr 5 2008, 01:03 PM)
Toyo Trampio
165/60/R14
RM130/piece
- Road noise is reduced. Good aquaplaning resistance. Dry grip is ok. Good OEM replacement for smaller cars.

Advan Neova AD07
205/45/R16
RM300/piece
- Loud on the road. Very tricky to drive in the wet; aquaplanes easily. Dry grip is incredible. Extremely stiff sidewalls contribute to steering responsiveness. However, there's very little audible screeching before it loses traction in the dry. Wears down very quickly.

Hankook RS2
185/50/R15
RM200/piece
- Overall feels very similar to the AD07 above, but with slightly reduced grip levels. Softer sidewalls. Compound does not hold up well to higher powered vehicles (>200+hp) during track applications. My RS2's started to tear down to the thread during a track day in Pasir Gudang.

Toyo Vimode
205/45/R16
RM250/piece
- Good wet and aquaplane grip. So-so in the dry; softer sidewalls than AD07 and less grippy. Overall a good OEM replacement tyre. Silent until half-wear.

Toyo Proxes R888
185/50/R15
RM280/piece
- Semi slicks for track/competitive use only. Corners like rails in the dry. Prepare to have nice compound spray patters around your fenders and front doors after a hot day at the track. 7/10 in the wet. Forget any aquaplaning resistance. Noisy as they should be.

Bridgestone RE-01R
195/55/R16
RM300+/piece
- Very good aquaplane resistance and wet grip. Dry is similar to the RS2's. Didn't use the tyres long enough as I sold the car shortly after getting the tyres.

Bridgestone RE040
185/55/R15
Price unknown, came with car
- Ok aquaplaning resistance, decent dry grip (7.5/10). Wet grip a bit uncertain. Road noise is quite loud.

David chin!

On wet, F1 is better.....dry both are equally....i still thumb up for F1 but its jsut that after 50%....is really very noisy..tak boleh tahan....

Heard BF goodrich not bad?any comment for me?Range of 17"....somehow the price is abt the F1 price......actually planning for my next tyre change is PP2 but still searching for alternative....
*
Yeah, my F1 is also very noisy, cannot tahan oso. laugh.gif Wanna do sound proof ad.

If dry both r equally good, then get F1 better as it is cheaper. drool.gif

Try giving Falken Ziex 912 (latest thread design) that's going for RM180-190 (195/55/15) in Klang Valley tyre shops. It's made in Thailand & very silent as well..... even more silent compared to Continental Comfort Contact.

How about performance?

Anyone has any idea when is F1 Asymmetric available? From oversea's review, it seems to be very good, better than GSD3 as it is suppose to replace gsd3 oso.

What is Goodyear Assurance?

gsd3 is not a good tyre, lousy.

I find it not very good on dry, just average, but superb on wet!

But I don't think you are looking for wet tyre, right?

Added on October 19, 2008, 1:09 amI know it from braking, MY01(lousy too) is better than it on dry.

So my suggestion would be A drive r1.

A drive R1 is cheap, 205/45/16 cost about rm240 with trade in, so for your size, is much cheaper I guess.

Now only I realize that my GSD3, one is made in Thailand and another one is made in Germany. The Germany is harder and rough surface, the Thailand a bit soft and smooth surface and wear out a bit faster than the German.

MY-01 is super noisy, how about A-Drive R1? as noisy as well?

Why TR1 better than PP2? It is better in wet, but dry?
