Bumping...
Our band Two Sides of a Coin are looking for a:
Drummer and Male Vocalist
Our Influences:
Asian Kung-Fu Generation (main influence), Red Hot Chili Peppers, Weezer
Our Genre:
Alternative Rock (mainly) with some slight Punk Rock, Indie J-rock and Pop Rock
Location:
Shah Alam (preferably), Klang, or maybe Subang Jaya
Requirements:
Drummer - Male or female. Must be able to play basic stuff like standard rock beats on the ride and hi-hat, able to keep time, doesn't have to be able to play flashy fills. Novices are welcome too. It'd be a huge bonus if he/she has his/her own drum kit so we can jam together and create some grooves.
Vocalist - Male. Must be able to sing in English. Recommended if you can write your own melody and lyrics.
You absolutely do not have to like the same bands, but you must be okay with our genre. We'll be recording a couple of songs soon, so you'll get to hear our style of playing.
Absolutely no drugs. If you drink, please drink only when you're not around us. If you're a smoker, don't smoke in the room and smoke outside instead.
Keep noodling to a minimum! i.e. don't play aimlessly and blankly in between songs and during discussions. It's unprofessional and loud.
Any race is welcome, as long as you're cool with us Malays.
Let's respect each other, be friends, and most importantly, have fun!
Age Requirement:
Around 18-23, can extend a bit
Band info:
So far our Shah Alam-based band has three guys - a bassist (me) and two guitarists. We're making our own songs mainly in English and also doing cover songs. We're simply playing for fun and out of passion for music. Admittedly, we're amateurs, but we're learning and improving along the way. Most activities are done during semester breaks.

I'm guessing you're one of those who like to shout to each other while the guitarist is shredding some pentatonic solo on his Marshall stack? Sorry, but it's annoying. But obviously, noodling around to create a riff for a new song is a completely different and more productive thing. |
