So this happened: https://www.facebook.com/faizan.ahmad.54/po...438730872866485Any idea how to prevent this? Should we never lock out on leg press once the poundage get serious? I'm aware he's using weights that he can't handle and doing quarter reps, but I feel it can happen also on full ROM once you are strong enough.

I think "never lock your knee" is found in every leg press article that I read.

1) never lock out knees, 2) standup, talk a walk, & sit normally (with leg facing down) during rest periods.
This happens due to knees lock out, and prolong time of reverse blood circulation when sitting on leg press machine where the legs are facing up.

QUOTE(bafukie @ Mar 27 2017, 05:28 AM) Wtf i couldn't stand watching the video.... Same feeling, the video is so terrifying..it's more terrifying than bench fail. This guy don't know he shouldn't lock his knee on leg press, common sense la whose bone can handle those weight, he thought he has adamantium-ed injected. First of all, don't bring ego to the gym. I don't know what he can achieve with that quatter rep + hand support. It'll just put a hell lot of pressure on the joint. Then the foot placement too low + heavy weight + lock out = GG.

When you push your knees when it's fully extended (locked out) like that, in addition with the ego lifting and half reps, something is bound to snap. Locking out is fine, just don't be an idiot and use common sense.

I usually lock out for 0.5sec on all my leg press reps cause if I don't I feel stress accumulating on my knee joint over the set.
