Damn.. and to think that I used to think of Captain America as a self righteous goon, and used to like Iron Man. After the civil war stuff, that had me thinking of Iron Man as a dictator instead.

Real pity they had to kill off Captain America though.. Wonder what that does to other series such as the Avengers now. In fact, I wonder what that does to virtually all of the other series, considering the outcome of the civil war...

Haha. Well, there's still 2 more contenders for the title. Bucky who's came back from the dead, and Patriot, the grandson of the original (and black) Captain America.

Then there's still the Captain America from the Ultimates series too.

Apparently Punisher will be taking over Captain America's role.

Yep, you heard that right, the violent trigger happy dude is becoming America's new icon. Says alot about the country eh.

The political undertone is strong with this latest turn of events.

Having a damn tough time deciding what's worse though. Punisher as Captain America, or Ironman as director of SHIELD with the registration act and all.

both are bad. Punisher steps on everything Caps stood for. and Tony isn't all good either.

says a lot about the metamorphosis of the American judicial and governmental system. Guantanamo Bay, where they hold prisoners in maximum security without hope for reprieve.

Me thinks there is going to be some kind of plot twist and Cap wasn't shot but it was US Agent instead!!! (Is this guy even still alive?)

Cap makes a dramatic return complete with Cyborg Eye (Ala Cable) and loads of machine guns. (probably also with amnesia)

Then he see's his old shield and remembers everything!!! ZOMG!!! Cap picks up his old shield and proceeds to open up a can of whoop @$$!!!!!

Or I could be wrong and he really is gone...In any case RIP Cap... T_T

^nope. just part of the mavel civil war crossover. capt was leading the "rebel" superheroes who were against the complusory registration of super powered humans in the superhuman registration act passed by the US gahmen.

the other side consisted of tony starks and peter parker. during the final big fight between the two sides capt asked the rebels to stand down and surrended after witnessing the destruction in NYC cause by the big fight between both sides. he was arrested and stood trail.

whoever's been following it will know that spidey's unmasked himself in front of reporters smile.gif

kinda sad storylines...

ah i'm sure he'll make a comeback one day...heck even aunt may died once (or twice?) and i'm not sure how exactly she came back to life...and now she gets shot again also by a sniper (could it be the same guy who shoots the captain??) an iconic hero such as himself can't be erased entirely from comic history wink.gif

If comic characters died and stayed dead then the sky would fall down. Marvel and DC has always did stuff as publicity stunts. Remember the 'Death of Superman' saga? That made headlines as well and boosted comic sales. About the only person to have stayed dead all these years is... uncle Ben.

The exception would seem to be the Ultimate universe, where dead people seem to stay (un)dead.

Well, X-Statix team died, whole team literally, and they all stayed dead tongue.gif

I wouldn't be surprised if Captain America stay dead. Marvel is sending a message to the world on its own country. Lets hear it.

its about time for comic heroes to die... I hope its not like superman... after the original dies 4 more new superman spawned, then later on they brought back the original Superman... Man so sien, just like another dragon ball clone.

So I expect they'll introduce 'son of America' as the new captain soon...
