Would like to ask about this company, especially the IT/ Biz Management Associate post.

1. Does it involve SAP implementations?
2. How's the environment like over there?
3. How's the pay like over there (for fresh graduate)?

Those working there please share over here...

If you are being offered a position as a management associate or IT specialist in the business solution department, then the answer would be:
1. No
2. Young team. Can learn a lot of things with the right attitude.
3. Standard pay for fresh graduates. nothing spectacular.

when will you be joining?

I got a better opportunity elsewhere...
I was there for less than 1 year..
It depends on which department u r working in...
Mind sharing what position u were offered and in which department u will be working in?

They have an SAP application team there doing SAP system rollout for different countries. Good opportunity for traveling if you are in their SAP Team.

Well... It all boils down to which department u r working for... some get to leave work on time while others have to slog it out till the middle of the night because of poor project management by the boss.

Next time when you go to Ent 4 in TPM, dont park at the underground car park, unles you are lazy to walk. haha
U could park at the big open air car park after turning right at the roundabout. But its kinda far la.. hehe

hi all,

i was attached wif DKSH MS previously. Lucky to have worked with CSSC team on the SAP 4.7 roll out. Gained a lot dere (of coz it was hard work)

All i can say is DKSH is a very good training ground (to gain experience, to learn new things, and of coz to train ur endurance). But it all pays for your future.

That's why we (me n ahming) got a better offer and able to cabut with better pay.

rclxms.gif

p/s: take the offer and work for a couple of years der. U'll be surprised on the opportunities offered.

1st they ask u to read through a set of questions for 5 minutes then present ur answer 1 by 1.

oh..before that u have to fill a form and got 1 column that u need to choose 3 different area that suite ur interest.

back to the interview session, they will ask u why y u choose those area. most of the question is about what u study before but they didnt test ur skill. so that's all...just talking... smile.gif

I think chezzball is correct. No rotation. Not like other companies. The period for MA is only six months. So they cant shift you to every single department.

The reason for the 3 managers to interview one candidate at one time probably is to judge this candidate is more suitable for which department. I think this is the 1st time they are interviewing people like this.

Chezzball, i used to have the "privilage" that i mentioned earlier. So glad to be gone. rclxm9.gif

Hi all,

I am new here. I've attended an interview for QA Specialist (with Christine Lim) @ DKSH recently. Am wondering how's the working environment, workload+hours, culture and conditions over there? It seems like its a 'shitty' place according to the previous posts here. But am wondering if this QA specialist is under the Biz Solutions as well? Pls enlighten me whether I should give it a try, if were to be given an opportunity. Look forward to replies soon.

Thx

From the outside, DKSH might seem to be a big MNC. But when you are inside you will find that it is nothing but a Chinaman company. But think of it this way, if you do get hired, work for them for awhile, gain some experience before getting your @$$ out of the company.

Hi Newbie,

from my earlier post you should know that I am still in DKSH. I am not familiar with the QA team but my understanding is that it is a new team that is being set up under Christine. They are under the SAP team if I am not wrong. There are a couple of questions I believe you should ask during the interview to evaluate the offer:-

1) Will training be provided? If yes what type of training? If they say on the job it means bull shit and they won't provide you with anything.
2) Are there opportunities to travel? Some teams in DKSH travel a lot for e.g. the Roll-Out team. So if they offer you the opportunity you have to ask them how much travel?
3) The most important question is what is the QA department's 5 year plans or goals and what is the your career progression plan?

I mean it all depends on what you want. I mean if you are a fresh grad and it is difficult for u take get a job then DKSH is not a bad place. However if you feel that you are capable there are plenty of companies that can offer you better. I mean if you have other offers or you have a current job I would advise you to stick to the status quo the reason is because I feel that you will waste your time here and not learn as much as other companies. I have to apologize to the DKSH people for being blunt.

Most of the guai los are either top management or are in the consulting team. Therefore they have a different pay structure than the rest. Which sane guai lo would work for peanuts in Malaysia?

If you think you are MNC material, you would not stay long in this company. You can get benefits better than you can get in here. As for laptops, they are cheap to acquire nowadays. So i dont think its a big deal. Even your typical chinaman companies can afford them nowadays.

Embrangle do you think you have a inferiority complex? I don't know why but I get a sense that many Malaysians have a tendency to think the Ang Mohs are smarter than us? But the truth there is no difference apart from skin color but at the same time their pay is 2 to 3 times more than us. It is just pure discrimination.

What is so great about a company allocating laptops to their employees? You are giving me a sense that you are a "frog in a well"......I mean with no disrespect.

seems like they have been hiring quite often as you mentioned, really so many people leaving huh
but to list them as the worst outside there? there are still companies, MNC out there which is much more catastrophic than here cool2.gif

at least from what I have seen, the equipment and working tools (PC, table, chair, etc etc..) are all in the top class standard biggrin.gif guess that might compensate something? not sure.........

some companies out there trust me have much worst work load and working environment as compared to here, to be honest I dislike the workload distribution here when I was here, but when you finally open up your view to the real world outside you'll noticed that there are some companies which is even worst to work in and with........

work along until you cannot bear with it anymore, then find another place to fight on......

just my 2-cents...

i work for DKSH Group.

They are amongst the better mnc out there. For every critic, there will also be equal number who had/have/is gaining from the employment there. There are always 2 sides to a coin. Take every thing with a big pinch of salt but new & inexperience recruits ought to be exposed to all kind of working environ; good, bad, worst. Thats all part of a career charting exercise. We gain some , we lose some.

Some of the kwai lohs are management trainees like many of you. They earn just about the same pay as the local management trainees They share room (yes, room NOT house or condo) in even Old Klang Rd where the rental is cheaper. Many are used to eating chup-fun just like us. Yes, they too b**** about the cost of living, made worst by being far away from their home (mostly europe).

Some of the kwai loh middle managers also do not have packages that we think they have...they are all here to learn the business the Asian way. Dont forget that DKSH is a growing company esp. in Asia. Them setting up an HQ in TPM is testimonial of them staying & investing here. The choice to work there is yours to make...look around and decide.

Opportunity many a time do not knock twice.

Hi guys,

I used to work for CSSC too, I joined CSSC from another MNC and I have no doubts that the pantry in CSSC is one of the best in terms of the fruits and beverages that they provide. During my time at the company I wish I could be as positive as you guys to use what is offered @ the pantry, the AL and nice people to benchmark. I mean if I am CSSC managment you are the type of people I am definitely looking for - people who are contented.

Keith I admire your passion for the company and I do agree with you that this is part of your career experience. But I just have one question for you -> how many MNCs have you worked for to justify your claim that DKSH is one of the better MNCs out there? If that is the case during my tenure at the company I wouldn't see people leaving every other week.

With regards to your claim that the so called kwai lohs MAs earn the same local pay as you guys -> I don't know where you got your sources from but I can guarantee you that you are wrong. Come on guys this is a no brainer.

If you really think that DKSH is using CSSC Malaysia as a springboard to grow in Asia -> I have to say that you are right to a certain extent but there is also a hidden reason -> find it out yourself it is quite evident.

Hey guys I am not hear to criticise CSSC -> I mean what for I am now in another company and I have learned a lot over there too. But I am just surprised that there are so many frogs in a well..........I mean with no disrespect.

But anyways good luck in your career guys....... smile.gif

Well,

This is one company can promise you bintang and bulan.
when tiba masanya, habluk pob talak.
Some department are good to work with some deparment is just crap.
I can say this is one of the worst "quai lo" "ang moh cow" "orang putih" company.
I think they are better known as "cow" instead or ang moh"
The whites is the company is getting whitter and the blacks are getting blacker. Only some not all. Some blacks there are with my highest respect, some blacks there i would say "go see mirror and see your self getting blacker...But the problem is even i would to give them a set of polish, they will decide to polish their bosses instead of them self.
Again i stress only certain not all. So dont take my statement as a raciscm factor.

Some white boss dont even know stuff. Go for meeting, instead of boss explaining whats gonna happen. The stupid boss, call some other ppl to explain. Here how it goes, "you were in the earlier meeting rite?, can you explain how are we gonna implemnt this". I think to my self, you are the boss, you were in the meeting, why you need some one else to explain. Unless the boss is stupid.

sure why not.
If u reach a Team Leader Position or Incident Manager.
U can drive a S40 already. Volvo Sial... From Kancil to Volvo is a very big jump.
Just make sure you know how say all this kinda things when you are in the office.
"please change to P1 and make sure you work on it"
'guys its P1, come on come on work on it"
"basically this is P1, why so slow respond"
"I already discuss, please change to P1"

Also remember, make sure you know how to white the white's backside"

Holla folks!

I hear the Vice President of DKSH CSSC, Mr DIETER SCHLOSSER was asked to resign! (yeap FIRED) shocking.gif

Not surprise!! smile.gif considering that during his nearly 4 year tenure at CSSC there was a high staff turnover and lots of politics took place (in the name of race and discrimination). I mean only in his time are such actions such as hiring friends (who already are making money) can take up secondary employment at CSSC, without the means of either a relevant qualification nor the required experience. In other words even if you are a half-baked BUT you are his (good) friend and if you are looking for employment you are more than welcome at DKSH CSSC blink.gif

Apparently he's announced that he's going off to SINGAPORE sad.gif NOW, if he can't even make CSSC a success and for longer than his current tenure I wonder how's he ever going to make it in SINGAPORE shakehead.gif

Nevertheless I wish him all the VERY best where ever he goes (especially in SINGAPORE) and hope he does not gets asked to resign again rolleyes.gif

From my end all I can say is this ... rclxm9.gif
