Even my Hauppauge WinTV non-PVR can support MCE, but not the TV function. And all Hauppauge remote, can be configured to work with any program by editing the irremore.ini.

ALL Hauppauge WinTV PVR -MCE editions comes with FM features... expect 1: WinTV 150 MCE SE edition...without FM & thus, a lower cost... aprt from tat...all MCE Kits have Microsoft certified remote ctrl/receiver/IR blaster

Hmm, even cheap TV Tuner, RM50 can control MCE, but only certain functions, even some joysticks can control MCE

how do you get the remote to learn you Astro's remote functions? cause mine cannot seem to detect my Astro remote signals which it needs for the the Hauppage remote to work.
also, what model is the Astro decoder? i'm not even sure of the make / model which you're meant to specify
this is for Windows Vista Ultimate + Media Center btw

Just got myself the PVR-150 MCE Kit (which is cheaper than the PVR-150 MCE - err. by RM100). The video out from my newly built HTPC seems a bit choppy.. no idea if this is caused by the PVR-150 or the built-in HDMI .. playing xvid file seems to be alright though.
Anyway, to question by Pimpin, I need to let the PVR-150 (or I guess the Win XP MCE) to relearn the remote. This is the new mini-astro decoder .. heard that the XP MCE could detect the old astro remote.

I get slightly choppy playback ocassionaly if I play HD Quicktime clips, and some HD WMV clips. I suppose that is because I am using VGA cable to connect to my LCD TV. Will be getting a DVi2HDMI soon to see if that helps. I think the RM100 cheaper is the bulk package (no fancy box but who needs it)

I suppose that is because I am using VGA cable to connect to my LCD TV. Will be getting a DVi2HDMI soon to see if that helps. I think the RM100 cheaper is the bulk package (no fancy box but who needs it) There are two versions actually, one is the PVR-150 MCE (comes with FM tuner) and the newer one is PVR-150 MCE Kit (does not have FM tuner). The former is around RM499 at the moment, but the MCE Kit could be had for RM399. I've resolved the choppy playback using different DVD decoder, was previously using PowerDVD which comes with my LG DVD/RW, changed it to Nvidia PureDVD decoder and it seems to be alright now. May need to find an encoder which tailored to ATI X1250 when I got time. BTW, I'm using HDMI cable to connect the HTPC to my Samsung R7 LCD TV. Playing XVID file seems to be alright.. so, I guess this is actually the DVD decoder problem.
