They got no choice, people make noise of the EC725 buy which I would say a good one. There a a plan to get a second batch but now seem silence.

at most rmaf only need another 12 helo to complement existing 12 in service

this is not like the old days. Nowadays every branch in MAF (even MMEA, bomba and pulis) already had their air wing and so are less reliant on rmaf for air transport.

better if rmaf concentrate on getting high end helo for csar mission and let the air wings of respective branches do general duty (air transport, patrol, regular sar, etc)

fact that many pipu dun know is that we didn't get all the helo in one go. the delivery of nuri is stretched to 20 years from 1968 to 1988. some of the nuri are still in its late 20s

oso, the ones that were upgraded were later batches (can see from tail number: M23-3x). Afaik the older ones were kept in storage once EC725 is in full service

Good idea but will not happen.
One is SU30mkm and Mig are russian. So if NATO or US go to UN and ask for embargo on russia and if this happen those plane will be grounded.
Two if and accident happen in one type of plane or helicopter and the plane/helicopter were force to be grounded due technical check. TUDM will have less plane/helis to fly. Thats why TUDM insist on new set of western plane. World politics do play a part ob the choice. Not that FA50 and Grifen are no good but safer to fly across water with 2 engine.

Will India, Russia Co-Develop a New 5th Stealth Fighter?
India and Russia have failed to resolve their differences so far and the joint project appears to be going nowhere.

Considering how long the Tejas took...by the time the indians are done... probably the world is already fielding 7th generation fighters.

The army should get a good mix medium and heavy lift helicopter. The best the PTD to get another 2 batch of EC for transport and heli assault operation. 4 to 6 chinook for heavy lift. The Stallions Ks now are to expansive.

army already got AW109 for transportation. add EC is ok but no so urgent, Chinnok should get faster , good to have 12 unit Chinook, 6 for peninsular, other 6 for sarawak/sabah。

AW109 is a good helicopter but it more for light observation and light transport. Where as Nuri and ES725 can do medium lift underslung 1 light vehicle or malaysias Pack Howitzer. As for troops more than 10 fully equipped. So Aw109 cannot replaced Nuri in basic transport role.

Infantry or Tanks - Which Should Lead An Attack?

Tanks and Infantry work hand in hand and side by side. One without the other and they rely heavily on one another to support a assault or any kind of battlefield manuevers. But in todays modern battlefield, who is the first to get into the fight and lead the sprearhead of a armoured force?

Do tanks roll in first and hope other infantry do not knock them out before they even make it to the oppsoing tanks?

Or do the infantry head first and clear the infantry out ahead and hope the tanks are not going to lead the attack?

Ideally its a mix of both, but its a complex and very subjective tactical process.
So lets talk about it!

Depends on your doctrine and situation. If its and open area like Iraq war tank will lead and 2 IFV behind the tank.
If its and ambush possible area. Infantry need to clear the ground from possible AT attack, IFV fire support and tank will come in if emeny Tanks spotted.
Just my opinion and to much reading and watching war movies.😏
